3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice beer. Poured a dark amber color with little head, which did not last. Aroma was of a sweet malt. No visible carbonation. taste was sweet malt, and the Carbonation was there just well hid. Nice malty after taste. A nice beer!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle into a glass. Pours a deep red with a very quick dissipating, large bubbled head, which is disappointing. Smells of dark malts, fruits, and bread. Rich, malty flavor with a well balanced finish. Not overly sweet, nor too dry. A well done doppelbock, except for the head.

Very nice beer, quite strong but still drinkable enough, malty and sweet, low head, very good but I like the optimator better

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lager-clear amber-copper with a rich tan head. Rich toffee on light fruit nose. Sticky mouthfeel. The toffee is in the flavor but more muted than what's noted in the aroma. Light fruitiness underneath.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This doppel bock is perfect and in my opinion better than the Andecks doppel bock. The colour is brown-red and the taste is like the "prune" caramel and sweet and not too dry, I mean the taste of alcool is not so strong.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Opaque dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of hay, toffee, sherry and anise. Flavor is toffee, caramel, some hints of cocoa, medium carbonation (more than I had expected based on other’s reviews). Sticky sweet boozy finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A dark, mahogany red-brown coloured beer with a very weak yellow-white coloured head. A strong, dark malt aroma, dark caramel, bready, raisiny and grapey. Medium mouthfeel with very little fizz. A smooth, bittersweet dark malt taste, burnt caramel, bready, candied fruit and raisins, plus some spice. The finish is bittersweet and lengthy.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, imported to USA.
APPEARANCE - dark amber color like you?d expect from a doppleock. Not much head to speak of.
NOSE - somewhat weak. Not too much to it. I think it fits the style, but very little to get excited about scent wise.
FLAVOR ? good flavot ? reminds me of siting in Augistiner brewery on the eve of Oktberfest a couple yeas ago. It?s a solid drinker.
