3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. The pour was a semi-transparent medium brown with an orange hue and an average sized (1-2 finger) cream colored frothy head that dissipated quickly to a small amount of residue which produced some poor lacing.
The aroma was of a toasted light bread malt and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of toffee, caramel, dark fruit (cherries and plums) and also had a mild nuttiness to it.
The taste was lightly sweet with a note of toffee early on and then had a nice bold maltiness come on board with notes of caramel, dark fruit and an ever so mild taste of alcohol. The flavor hung around for only a short while with a sweet fruity taste that was left to fade away rather quickly.
Mouthfeel was just above light in body and had a kind of watery texture with a moderate carbonation.
Overall a brew that was quite easy to drink and had a nice malty fruity flavor...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer shows up with quite a bit of spice accented with hits of dark dried fruit. Cinnamon nutmeg and dried fig all come to mind while the beer finished clean with a light but present herbacious hop bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
0.5l bottle. Amber body, beige head. Both the aroma and the taste have a significant booze character to it escorted with caramel and toast. All-in-all a nice bock.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A real good bock beer. Not as heavy on the booze flavor as I have come to expect from other doppelbocks. In fact I really enjoyed how sweet and malty it was while still being so strong. A really good brew!

Erwartet hatte ich schon was und am Ende war es gar nicht mal so schlecht. Sueffig, mit etwas Karamell, bisschen Muffigekit und ordentlich Alkohol. Netter Bock, der recht leicht runtergeht.

Pours out of the bottle in a deep dark amber-brown colour with steady head and medium body. Aroma of strong alcohol, raisins and malt. Taste of malt, barley, dark grains, dried fruits, perfume, wheat and bread. Fruity-bready finish. Nice one.

Very good bock. Think this beats out the celabrator. Glad our Hy Vee carries some good stuff!
