500 ml bottle.. ..Hints of malt with strong noble hop aroma.. .. Clear, Lt Gold pour with short lasting white head.. .. Malty flavor, fairly sweet with hops in the middle and very sweet finish.. .. Smooth, light-to-medium body.. .. This is the actual stuff they serve at Oktoberfest (contrasts to the orangey oktoberfest-style beer made by other breweries and sold in bottles, not in the tents). It’s a tasty german beer - more oomph in the sweetness. Picked this up in Munich after the oktoberfest and brought it home to sample along side other oktoberfest style beers (Paulaner, etc).

Very pale clear yellow colour with a large white (but soon flat) head. Was expecting a bit more in the taste - what with 6% it tasted a bit empty and thin.

500 ml bottle, bought in Bier Spezi, Hamburg. Very pale golden colour, large head. Moderate aroma of grass, fruits and pale malts. Flavour is surprisingly bland, some grassy and sweetish notes. Low bitterness. ABV is well hidden. Drinkable, but I expected more than this. Confirms my theory that the Octoberfest is a ridiculously over-hyped event for American and German binge drinkers, and has very little, if anything, to do with a great beer selection or beers out of the ordinary.

Very pale clear gold; very white, fluffy head. Creamy, faint malty nose. Lightly perfumed, but rather nondescript overtone. Grassy, rainwater, sweet pale malts, maybe a bit (white) bready. Dull to an extreme. Grist slickness, cobwebby feeling, watery. Do they really serve this tasteless stuff on the O’Fest? Let me remember to keep away from this non-event.

(bottle) Deep golden colour with a foamy medium head with bubbles. Floral and slightly toasted malty nose. Moderate sweet malty taste. Quite balanced dry, slightly bitter and soft malty finish. The alcohol comes up in the finish, but is quite warming. Okay Festbier, but not a great one.

Bottle. Pale golden colour, creamy head. Flavour is a little malty, and slightly hop citric. Quite tasteless for an Oktoberfest.

Bottle: Pale golden, mid-sized white head; mainly malty nose with bready and caramel notes, also traces of cardboard; sweetish malty beginning, slightly sweetish-malty taste, soft bitter-sweet ending; not a great one, but soft and quite well rounded......A better Oktoberfest Bier.

I think this is the strong beer or at least the stuff they use in the winter seasons. I had this during oktoberfest in Munchen. Nice head, yellow-orange color. Good lager.

Pale yellow color with a light white head. Malty with some hop bitterness at the end, quite thin though. Quite fresh but with a strong alcoholic aroma. Not different from an average helles.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, BB 02/05. Very pale golden colour, with small white head, quickly gone. Malty aroma, with some sweetness, some grain. Taste’s not bad at all; like a more interesting pilsner. I like the maltiness, and the interesting, slightly bitter, yeasty aftertaste. Medium to light bodied. Pretty good.
