Bottle purchased in Berlin.

Pours a beautiful crystaline pale gold with a nice white head. Citric nose, some sourness, dry grassy fields. Lots of life in the flavor: a strong hops with some pine, thick sweet fruit (apple, pear, papaya?) in the flavorful malts, a good assertive hop finish with the bitterness accenting the lively carbonation and visa versa.

Absolutely fresh, absolutely delicious. Strong and forward in character, almost like some the targeted-to-West-coast-beer-geek American craft pilsner. A very nice beer!

Augustiner Pils is yet another fine example of the excellent beers from this brewery. Although not quite as good as the Pilsners made in Neighboring Czech Republic, this is a full-bodied pils that is very enjoyable. A very nice finish.

On tap and 12 oz. Bottle in the same sitting. Perfect example of the style. Great light rip and drinkable pils.

(500ml bottle) Courtesy of Joss. Its so pleasant to have a German Pils as there is more aroma and flavour. Very crisp and herb aroma. Very balanced in texture and flavour, mild bitterness and buttery palate. Tonic, very green hops. So nice compared to North American Pils.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2010 Live at the Augustiner-Bräustuben in Munich, served in a bottle: pale golden coloured, fluffy, nicely lacing white head; shy traces of grassy hoppiness in the nose, some dough; light bitter-sweet flavour and a light grassy and malty finish; easily drinkable, a bit too light-bodied for a beer of 5,6% ABV ! Re-Rate (bottle sponsored by Joss!) Pale golden, quite stable mid-sized white head; distinctive floral-hoppy aroma, covering some grainy sweetness; distinctive, but mild bitter-sweet flavour; aromatic hoppiness in the short, sweet finish. A fine and pleasant, really Bohemian Pils ! Draught at "Augustiner an der Frauenkirche", Dresden, 06/10: 3D "bohemian" hop profile, very smooth, solid sweet-bitter flavour, not too dry. Very moreish and very, very good!!!!

On tap at the beer hall. Pale gold with big off-white head. Strong hops in the nose, and a dry hoppy taste with some cookie malts. A balanced, excellent beer.

0,33 l bottle, Csakajósör
Clear pale straw yellow colored beer with a medium froathy head that melts down slowly to a small lacing one on the surface. Opens with a mild malt, after a second the lively carbonation brings the herbal-grassy hops. Medium bodied beer with a light grainy character at the first slip, after a while the hop arrives with its own dry character and with a clean herbal taste. Bittersweet, also dry finish. Correct pilsner, good!

Csak a jó sör, Budapest Világos szalmasárga színe van, ami tükrösen tisztán csillog. Habja hófehér, elég termetes, laza szerkezetű, de igen kitartó. Illata virágos komlós és erre a fajtára oly jellemzően kissé szúrós, vizes lópokróc szerű, de ez jól áll neki. Ízében először egy jó adag malátát érezni, ami kissé édeskés és gyümölcsös. Aztán jön egy hatalmas mennyiségű komló, ami mindent maga alá temet a maga virágos mezős, szénás, kesernyés zamatával. könnyű teste van és közepesen buborékos. Utóíze kesernyés, gyógyfüves és teljesen kiszárítja a szánkat. Igazán finom és példamutató hagyományos német pils.

Bottle, Augustiner Brau-stuben, Munich. Nice sparkling colour, herbs in the aroma, bitter taste and hoppy dryness in the end. A classic german pilsener. I don’t understand why all the pilseners are only avaible in bottle in Bavaria, why can’t I get a draugt one anywhere?
