UPDATED: JAN 29, 2010 Orange coloured, nicely thick cloudiness. Yeast on the nose, maybe orange or lemon. Very yeasty. Creamy, buttery and thick mouthfeel. A bit orangy on the taste also, yeast.. and yeast. Yes, it seems very yeasty. Re-rate: Not that yeasty actually, couldn’t detect much butterness either. Somewhat easy weizen, but the one I had 2010 was closing on it’s BBE. Raised the score a bit from 2.3.

50cl. Bottle. Poors cloudy orange with white head. Aroma banana, yeast, malts. Taste weak, little sweat, little bitter. Mouth-feel thin, bit creamy. Weak weissbeer, it’s ok but taste is little to weak.

26.4.2013 Typical hazy brownish orange hefeweizen looks with a huge head. Aroma has fruits including the banana. Sweetish flavour has light wheatyness and banana and a bit caramel even. Very nice mouthfeel. At it’s best fresh from the brewpubs taps.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours shiny metallic, yellowy - orange to carrot like, cloudy and well carbonated body, head is yellowish, butter like - creamy, initially extremely huge and pillowy - frothy in texture, slowly decreasing to medium, there is a decent lacing. Unfortunately after few minutes beer drastically decarbonates in body texture. Body colour is a bit darker than many weizens.
Aroma: Clove, butter, wheat, butterscotch, banana, milk, barley grains at the background, juicy, little hints of an orange peal, well pronounced, intensive and well balanced aroma in the overall impression, vanilla, wallnut.
Flavour: Fermented or slightly rotten herbs but in a positive way, banana, clove, accidity and slight saltyness on palate, soils and daugh, boiled carrot, juicy, notes of orange peal, very smooth on palate, mild, later on in the aftertaste grains of wheat and barley are becominge present with minerality and yeasty nose. Impression of being nutricious. Finish duration is medium to long.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is smooth, milky, carbonation on palate is soft to medium, finish feel is accidic and mineral with notes of yeast.

500ml Weizen glass enjoyed @ Augustiner restaurant @ Munich Oktoberfest 2012. A: Pours a dark orange color. A bit cloudy but definitely filtered Weissbier. Huge creamy and viscous head is formed leaving many small chunks of foam in the glass S: Great banana esters in the nose. Spicy in the Weiss style, with notes of cloves, honey, wheat, bread and finally the yeasts. No hops so far... T: Sweet upfront with notes of honey, sweet malts, some caramel malts. Banana bread, cloves, wheat and yeasts. In overall, a sweet beer. Smooth. No noticeable hops bitterness M: Very smooth mouth sensation, a light to medium creamy body and low retention. Sweet bread aftertaste O: Excellent drinkability. Good example of an authentic German Weissbier [ BA Review @ 9/30/2012 ]

Bottle. Pale gold color, head that dissipates quickly, minimal carbonation. Something funky in the nose, biscuit perhaps? Taste is initially good! Fruits, bananas, citrus - then the aftertaste, breads, slight flat and warm effect on the backside that detracts from the initial "cool" sip.

Cloudy golden with a small head and good retention. Aroma of banana, grains, cloves and yeast. The flavour is also very wheaty, with some light banana and clove. The finish is dry and grainy. Nothing spectacular here, but worth a try.
