Slightly cloudy golden colour with tiny white head. Heavy malty aroma with notes of manure. Flavour is malt, mild alcohol, some sweetness and balancing bitterness. Drinkable Bock but not my favourite.

Mild getreidig-süßer Geruch. Eher milder Antrunk, etwas süßlich, drückend muffig-hopfig. Hell-malzig, wenig würzig, zurückhaltend. Mit der Zeit etwas würziger werdend, es bleibt aber trotzdem ein milder Bock. Zum Ende wenig alkoholisch, hopfiger, süßlich wie am Anfang. Ein milder Vertreter des Bockgenres, mit seiner Bestimmtheit aber interessant. Süffig! Vielen Dank an den Doppelbock für das Bier! 12/11/11/11/9/11

Draft at the Brewpub in Salzburg, Austria. Rich with tart fruit. Sweet juicy malt. Lingering but subtle marmaladey finish. Very smooth and incredibly drinkable. Lovely fresh beer, could drink this all night.

Bottled (2007): Grainy, sourly and weak. Hoppy, bitter and dry finish. Light malty, grainy and sweetish beer. Very weak.

This is the other beer I had that day at the Monastary. In fact the picture in my profile is me drinking this beer in the beer hall. This beer was out of the small barrel. Anyway it has a dark amber/red color, a hop taste and a bitter finish. Overall I liked this beer, but I had it a while ago so my memories are more of the experience then of the actual technicalities of the beer.
