3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jfb (1620) - - AUG 1, 2010
(draught, at the brewpub) pours a supposedly clear golden colour with a rocky white head. spicy aroma of tobacco and herbs, with notes of pale malts and some light earth. flavour is the same, with a herbal-hoppy profile and a slightly grainy finish, nicely balanced. medium-bodied with smooth carbonation, very refreshing.

Great overall beer. Loved the spruce after taste with the German hops. Great beer
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jackl (706) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2011
Bottle. Standard marzen appearance - light color with a foamy head that takes time to settle. Clean, grassy nose. Sweet, floral flavor, with just enough malty weight to do the trick.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 kjc51478 (308) - Cologne, GERMANY - SEP 25, 2011
1l Draught at Brewpub. Appearance is golden yellow color with medium, off-white head. Aroma is sweet with a mild fruitiness with some grains peaking through. Taste is similar with a fruit and malt sweetness serving as the foundation with a nice wave of cereal grains. There’s also a very subtle grassy hop bitterness present – but only slightly – giving this brew an amazing sense of balance. Palate is medium-bodied, soft texture, average carbonation, and a smooth, semi-sweet finish. This is easily one of the best Marzens I have ever tasted.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (3336) - GERMANY - JUL 22, 2011
A few liters from the Biergarten at the Stübl in Mülln (Salzburg). Amber with a creamy tan head. Lightly spicy, with mild caramel malt outweighing the hop contribution, a slash of citrus and a süffig medium body. Faint perfume on the side and an occasional hint of woody character.

This is THE beer you should drink whenever visiting Salzburg. From the 1-litre mug, of course.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011
11/10/11/10//10
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rickgordon (3764) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 30, 2011
Draught in Klagenfurt, Austria.
Crystal clear copper colour with fluffy head. Light flowery tobacco nose and light perfumy. Light bodied with low flavour profile. I was thinking Vienna style when I had it. A little astringent and boozy (weird - yes!). Acidity sneaks in towards the end. Medium bitter.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 canary dog (525) - Rutland, Vermont, USA - OCT 17, 2010
Kind of a thin and weak beer. Not too impressive. Tastes like a marzen wheat beer.

Pours clear amber with no head at all. Well carbonated. Aroma of yeast, malts, melassis and hay. Crisp mouthfeel, flavor is sweet malty and hoppy. Acidytart palate feel. Finishes with a very nice sweet tart longlived hoppy aftertaste.
