Flavor swoops in (cue EAGLE SCREAM), grabs you by the face and flies you through the hop rainbow. At the peak of the ride it swoops back to earth and gently drops you back on your bar stool where you are refreshed, excited and ready to ride again. It’s hoppy, bold and American. More bitter than a Cleveland Cavs Fan.

Malts: Pils, C-40, C-60, Wheat
Yeast: American Ale

Clear light amber, fine white head. Starts cara-sweet, but hop bomb quickly drops and lingers. Not very complex, but nicely fresh and drinkable.

Taste is an earthy grass, pine hops with slight grapefruit and a roasted malt backbone with hints of caramel. Palate is light body, high carbonation. Good summer beer. Update: had fresh at home from a can and the flavors above are more pronounced. Updated rating from 3.2 to 3.5

Rich copper and bronze coloured body with a thin white head. Aroma of bright PNW hops with quite a bit of malt, some alcohol and a nice piney scent as well. Medium-bodied; Pungent hop flavour dominates at first with a good balance of rich strong malt. Alcohol shows near the end as well with a definite depth of flavours. Aftertaste shows some rich caramel, a good malt backbone and yes, of course the hops dominate. Overall, a nice beer for sure and more of an East Coast IPA, but a great one to sample, especially in a can and especially in central Austin. I sampled this twelve ounce can at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar in Austin, Texas on 05-May-2014 for US$4.99.
