3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft pour at Whip In. Black color with a thin white head that lingers. Sparse white lacing clings to the glass. Poured too cold to get a proper tasting, particularly on smell. Tastes of malts, a light roastiness and faint hops. Highly drinkable beer. I like it better than their Black Thunder.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown appearance, nearing black. Beige head, nearly an inch in height. Pine and roast in the aroma. mild chocolate character. A well balanced version of a black IPA. Definitely a nice hop presence, but not too assertive. A touch of bitterness in the back. Pretty easy drinking. Solid.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can thanks to Will. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is pine, herbs, and roast. Medium mouthfeel with light bitter hop, sweet roast and light dryness. Very good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice beer, and even though it was my least favorite of the ones I tried, I still liked it quite a bit. Roasty and hoppy. Thinnish body and easy drinking. I drank it while on the brewery tour.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours coffee black. Opaque. The head is tan and foamy, medium to medium-small in size. Bubbles stick around for some time. Maybe, itís just selection bias, but I get the sense that cans do good things for a beerís head. The aroma is fresh and bright with hops. Itís a pleasant mix of floral, spice and grass hoppiness. Sweet caramel malt in the background. Little to no aroma of darker grains. The beer has a very pleasant mix of caramel sweetness and that same bright hoppiness. Thereís a little more grapefruit rind to the hop character in the taste, but thereís still plenty of grass and pepper. Again, little to no roasted malt presence - perhaps, just a touch in the finish. I would guess that Sinamar or a similar product was used in this beer, and I highly approve of that for this style (of course, Iím not a big ABA/BIPA/CDA fan). Mouthfeel is smooth with some light hop oiliness. Tasty beer. Itís not exactly blowing me away, but itís pleasant and appealing and has little roast flavor.

Very dark amber (some light does show through), toffee colored head. Pine in the nose. Bitter. Middle is solid toasted malt, mixed with a variety of hop body. Finish is resin and pines again.

Very good IIPA, but posibly an eeentsie bit over assertive (like that is a real problem with someone like me that enjoys the occasional slap in the face). I had on tap and the tow 4pks I managed to get before they disappeared from the shelves.
Now on to looking for # 4 or whatever comes next.

Yep, this is pretty much black. With a light brown head it appears very stout-like, but with a twist... Everything else. Do a blind taste test and youíd swear you were drinking an earthy, English style IPA, thick, sweet, and yet with a delicious American hop profile. Man, this has a great nose! Just donít look at it. Itís almost candy-like. The black color almost ruins the delicious moment.
In the mouth... Again! Itís an IPA! Thank God for brewers that make black IPAs that donít taste roasted. I love this. Itís thick, delicious, and even breast, with heavy sweetness, a soft palate, and a definitely more weighed down body thanks to some awesome yeast and grain bill. Love it.
