Here’s a secret: This is really an American Pale Ale. But we call it Half IPA because we do what we want. Light hop additions during the boil and tons of dry hopping with Centennial and Citra mean the bitterness is low, but the hop flavor and aroma are high. Made specifically for summertime in Austin, it’s great for sitting poolside or dockside.

Tap at the brewery. Amber pour, clear. Aroma is piney, light grass, slightly floral. Taste is lightly bitter, light pine, grass. Definitely "half" the flavor of their other IPAs. Don’t really dig it.

Came in a four pack of cans in a box at heb. Seasonal. Beautiful light orange yellow pour with fluffy white head. Well carbed. Sweet hopy aroma, citrus heavy, tangerine, Orange, lemon zest. Taste is a little blander than aroma but still has a solid hop zest body.low bitter. Lost of head still present 10 min in. Not sure if I’ve seen that before. Great summer ipa (apa).

Tallboy. Funny labeling. Deep gold orange. Some citrus hops. Fairly malty, with some pine and citrus hops. Dangerous for the ABV,

Can. Pours clear pale gold with small head that quickly subsides, and lively carbonation. Aroma is pleasant citrusy and grassy hops and pungent mango, very nice and interesting how specifically that mango note jumps out. Taste is sweet and juicy with lots of mango/tropical character and white grape, then fading into pine and a semi-dry finish crackery finish. Not very bitter, and good body. If this were a local for me I’d seek it out again.

On tap at brewery. Pours a clear gold with small frothy white head. The aroma is strong tropical fruit hop, resin, and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with nice wet hop, tropical fruit, and light bitterness. Very impressive.

Draft. Pours a clear amber-gold with a light, fine-grained cream-colored head. Nose is citrus, rosemary, and a little dry floral notes. Creamy on the tongue, with some hops bitterness, but mostly with a round, savory, doughy, almost cheesy note. Butter on fresh bread comes to mind. Finishes long and a little indistinct. Decent, but a little unfocused.

On draft at Black Star Co-op. Light gold pour, thin white head. Nose is spruce & pine. Bitter. Middle is creamy malt and peppery hops, hint of orange peel. Finish is medium length, high bitterness. Wonderful with their avocado club (Avo, white cheddar, stir fried onions, bibb, tomato, on grilled sourdough; I added bacon). Life was good.

Smell is fresh and bright, big hops. Lots of aroma on this one with some citrus, pine and pot like smells. Taste is hoppy, crisp, a touch earthy, fruity and nicely bitter. Comes off like a 2/2 IPA rather than a 1/2 IPA really. Dry, tasty and perfectly carbonated with a lightly prickly mouthfeel and lighter body. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Can from the Whip In. Golden pour with a white head. The aroma has some very nice tropical fruit notes. I get some apricot and mango character as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is similar. The juicy fruit notes are complemented by a bit of pine. Low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Great hoppy pale ale. Wish we got this brewery in Dallas.

Pours pale golden with quickly disappearing head. Easy drinking APA. Citrus and a touch of spice. Light bodied.
