3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2015 Pours opaque brownish black with a loose white head that quickly disappears, followed by wet, foamy lacing. Aroma is heavy coffee, roast, and that’s about it. Flavor is loads of coffee up front, caramel, bread, malt. Not a complex nose or palate, but a tasty seasonal beer folks in the region look forward to. A simple classic.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma primarily roasted coffee. Thick black pour with tan ring and no lacing. The taste is slightly and primarily coffee flavored. Full body and medium carbonation. Overall, aggressive coffee flavor up front which mellows on the back end while the high alcohol content is well hidden.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black bodied, very creamy tan head. Loads of coffee, especially since the malts aren’t too sweet and heavy. Toffee like yet not sweet. Excellent taste too, smooth bitterness, balancing carbonation. Not super heavy or powerful but packing loads of taste richness per abv. Really well made and just plain enjoyable. (On tap at Craft Pride Austin)
