3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Luckily I have a vivid imagination, so when I smell this beer I’m actually able to pick up faint traces of port. I’m not sure I would have thought of port without knowing that this wine had been added to the brew, but still. Stronger than port though, is caramel, spices and Belgian yeast (and hints of wild yeast?). The port is more evident in the flavour, especially in the late finish. The initial flavour is dominated by caramel and fainter spices. The taste is light to moderate sweet and the long finish is moderate bitter. The mouthfeel is quite light, a bit dry and with a rather soft carbonation. A nice one.
