Sampled in Torres. A really nice brew. Super smooth and not overdone with malts. A little taste of roasted nuts. One of the best Chilean brews.

Bottle 33cl. A clear dark ale with low head that goes quickly. Nose is on brown malt and caramel. Aroma is sweet, nice on toasted and brown malt, nice caramel and barley sugar body, hints of brown bread. Finish is a bit metallic with toasted notes. A good ale with high carbonation.

Bottle. Dark brown colour. Extremely refreshing aroma. I found this to be a very solid ale. It doesn’t have some of the artificial sweetness you find in most macro-ales. Overall it’s relatively simple and unsurprising, but it’s still above average and will do the trick if you are in the mood for a proper british-styled brown ale.

KingGambrinus (117) - Santiago, CHILE - NOV 23, 2007
(Bottle) Dark brown color with a small beige head that fades away quickly. Toasted malt aroma, dark chocolate and berries. Flavor is bittersweet, it has notes of caramel, smoke, chocolate, and toasted malt. A solid Ale with good texture, it could be even better with some more body.

Bottle, black with a bubbly light tan head. A toasted aroma gives off caffeine and oak notes (a little whiskey and coke like). Quite a light and mellow palate, the toasted malt flavour is quite undertstated with caramal and then more oak towards the finish.

Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2007
Bottle, thanks Cristián and David! A decent enough beer - it’s actually like a Southern English brown ale in some respects - with lots of caramel and a thick malty character. Solid if unexciting.

almosi (281) - Viña del Mar, CHILE - MAR 10, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 14, 2007 (in bottle, supermarket in Chile). It is of a color brown dark, brilliant and transparent. It is not of a great head, with a small, but slow cord. There appear the smoke, the bonfire, enough fruits and an earthy end. The flavor is a candy weighed with a light bitterness, where they remain both in enough time. The body is medium, with a rather high carbonization. A good Ale, a very good dark Ale.

Panzerfaust (509) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - NOV 22, 2006
Pours an opaque brown/very dark ruby color. Head is big beige and fairly diminishing. It leaves a small lacing. Aroma is very fruity with light malty notes and buried hops. It shows notes of ripe berries, cherry and truffles. Some chocolate hints too. Enjoyable. Flavor is pretty bitter with a bittersweet start. It begins with some chocolate and smoked flavors, slowly getting more bitterness from the toasted malt and the hops. Nice mellow fruitiness. Body is medium, but the texture is a little watery. Medium to high carbonation. Finish is somewhat dry or maybe earthy. Aftertaste is fruity, smokey and very good. A fine beer from Austral.

Lilith (242) - Santiago, CHILE - NOV 21, 2006
Dark rubi-red coloured with small, slow bublles. Fair, medium to small off-white head that leaves a decent lacing. Aroma is smooth sweet and smoked with hints of burnt sugar, berries, cherry, chocolate and molasses, alcohol is subtly present at the end. The flavor is overall bittersweet of dark chocolate, roated cereals and species. Light bodied, some sticky aftertaste, medium carbonated.
