2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
May have been a problem batch. Signs of autolysis/yeast stress in the aroma. Pity because there was a lot to like if you could get beyond that. Copper with a lavish centimetre of foam showing good length. The herbal aroma is marred by a burnt rubber taint, as if you were sniffing a bottle of Orval that had been run over repeatedly by a car doing doughnuts. Nice chewy body. Toffee malts and spiced apples. Some passionfruit and grapefruit from Pacific NW hops. Definite potential if they sort out the brewing issue. (Wentworth Falls bottlo)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head and a little lace. The aroma is woody resin light metallic hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a sharp resin hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Can) Clear reddish brown / dark amber with little loose head. Pleasant aroma with citrus and pine hop and some pepper spice. Medium body with reasonable carbonation. Toffee sweetness at the start with some balancing citrus, however hops quickly dominate right through to a decent long bitter finish. Overall pretty good, but seemed to lack some clarity or crispness to the hop flavours (or maybe I am being influenced by the fact it came in a can).

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can at Scratch Bar 280814. Pours a very dark amber almost copper red colour with a good layer of foam. There is some malt in the aroma but that’s where it ends. Quite an unusual flavour with a big hit of spice. Full in the mouth with a long lasting finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ML can
Clear orange amber color, slightly off white head. Sticky lacing.
Nose is spice, orange and grapefruit. Good dry hopping nose.
Taste is spice, dusty orange and grapefruit with a decent caramel malt body. Malts dominate in the taste.
Clean and crisp, very bready feel. Not real bitter though. Prickly carbonation and light bodied.
Tastes a bit too commercial. Oh wait, it is pretty much a commercial brew pub. Sessionable but very uninspired

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours dark amber with a fading head.
Nose shows some spicy and grapefruit-like hops along with a grainy malt character.
Flavours include straw, popcorn, spicy hops, grainy malt and herbal notes. Pretty weird stuff there, a couple of big off-flavours.

Whoop. I think their marketing blurb of having added hops at every stage of the brewing process is true. There are so many hop flavours here it’s almost as if the hops are providing the body. As an amber ale, you’d have to say it’s a fail but as an overhopped American something something it’s pretty delicious. Very smooth, hides its alcohol well.
