COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Its all about the hops. In this case Australian Galaxy hops. Used in the kettle, the fermenter and in maturation to give a big hit of enticing citrus and passion fruit flavours but without too much bitterness to slow you down.

can, at the bank hotel in newtown. pale golden wwith a slender white head; decent citric hop character although as it warms there are suggestions of dishwashing detergent; medium bitterness, somewhat aggressive, tinny

Can at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is pine needle grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a yeasty citrus hop palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

355ml can from Dan Murphy’s. There is a big fluffy white head above a hazy cloudy looking amber beer. Nice passionfruit hop aroma which is pleasant in the nose. Fruity and zingy in the mouth and the favour is a mix of rockmelon and passionfruit.

really pale golden color. Lightly hopped nose that is reminiscent more of a Pilsner than a pale ale. Very light body with little character and little resemblance to a pale ale

The Australian Pale Ale a random beer picked up from World Beer Market via Rakuten. Currently on sale for 250-300 yen for 355ml, imported by Konishi. 4.8% this beer has the look of a Pilsner but a surprisingly fruity hoppy punch on opening. The label says Galaxy hops and it does indeed give me a passion fruit aroma. Raspy mouthfeel & light bodied. The taste is crisp, tropical fruit hoppiness then chalky light malts. Decent but it would benefit from a more balanced malt bill. Quite good for the price.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2015 [8/11] Tap. Very pale yellow, white head. Light malts, some tropical fruit, indistinct weedy bitterness, a little funk that seemed out place.
,[2.5]</br>Can. Much better. Not much going on on the malt side of things but there’s tropical and grassy hops and the finish - whilst a bit on the low side for bitterness for me - is clean and fairly dry. a pretty good summery quaffer.

Can from Kumiyama AEON Mall liquor shop. Decent tropical fruit nose, with some cat pissy notes. Cloudy apple juice color. Light tangy tropica; fruit, mild bittering, some gentle grapefruit. Thin body. Nice enough. A bit watery. Good nose. But these hops might work better with a maltier base, perhaps in an IPA.

Into a tulip, chilled. Brilliant, medium gold. Highly effervescent with a sudsy and loose white head of foam. Hefty and raw pine-needle, forest-floor nose; very clean with hints of tree bark, vine clippings, eucalypt, camphor and elderflower. Dry; parchingly dry in fact. Clean and streamlined with a very raw and rough flavour profile like the nose. Pine-wood, gritty palest malt, haybales, dusty herbs. Moderately bitter finish, floral and herbal with a touch of spice. Spritzy to lively in carbonation and on the light side in body. There is only a light hint of fruit in the linger, citric, and almost distant. Very quaffable. Leaves you parched and in need of more. Not a bad drop at all. (33cL can, BB 26/12/14, Dan Murphy’s Cannington)

355ml can. Poured a hazy golden yellow with a fine and slowly fading white head. Aromas of piney, near resinous hops balanced by juicy passionfruit, peach and tangerine. Light to medium body, medium carbonation and firmly textured that’s crisp, clean and refreshing. Finishes with a lingering pithy pink grapefruit bitterness. Good intensity to start and fine length but falls a little short on the back end. Good as a summer sessioner.

Aangename verrassing.
