Bought at Dan Murphy’s. A great galaxy single-hop beer. Lovely bitter, citrusy notes in the aroma and on the palate. Not too malty, a good hoppy summer beer.

From a 355ml can on 4/7/2013 (labelled ’The Pale Ale’). Pours a quite cloudy light straw with a medium head - a very odd looking beer. Has a lovely light fruity aroma, with some citrus and passionfruit. There’s lots of passionfruit and more sweet citrus in the flavour, with a slightly dry, relatively firm finish. Has quite lively carbonation and a medium body. This is a very nice beer - quite similar to a Knappstein Reserve Lager, which is a good thing. I’m quite liking this brewery’s work so far.

Pours wheat colour. Nice aroma. Floral. Great taste if a little spritzy. Got citrus, maybe a bit of cantaloupe. Light in mouthful. Pleasant finish. A lot better than expected. Works from a can.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Into a tulip, chilled. Brilliant, medium gold. Highly effervescent with a sudsy and loose white head of foam. Hefty and raw pine-needle, forest-floor nose; very clean with hints of tree bark, vine clippings, eucalypt, camphor and elderflower. Dry; parchingly dry in fact. Clean and streamlined with a very raw and rough flavour profile like the nose. Pine-wood, gritty palest malt, haybales, dusty herbs. Moderately bitter finish, floral and herbal with a touch of spice. Spritzy to lively in carbonation and on the light side in body. There is only a light hint of fruit in the linger, citric, and almost distant. Very quaffable. Leaves you parched and in need of more. Not a bad drop at all. (33cL can, BB 26/12/14, Dan Murphy’s Cannington)

From can and called "The Pale Ale". Pours a cloudy pale straw color with a decent head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma of citrus and fruit with bit of malt in the background. Taste of citrus with a bit of malt sweetness and grain. Decent bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly moderate body, crisp and refreshing. nice balance. Enjoyable beer, better than I expected.

355ml can from Dan Murphy’s. There is a big fluffy white head above a hazy cloudy looking amber beer. Nice passionfruit hop aroma which is pleasant in the nose. Fruity and zingy in the mouth and the favour is a mix of rockmelon and passionfruit.

Can - pours a hazy yellow with a big white head. Pine resin dominates witha underlying citrus and floral aroma. Floral hop up front then a dry resin finish. Medium to creamy mouthfeel.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bought in a 355ml can from Dan Murphy’s. Packaging and name gave me the impression it was some el cheapo trying to cash in on the craft beer market.
However the initial pouring showed this was a serious beer. Beautifully cloudy and golden with a nice creamy and bubbly head showed lots of promise.
Hints of fruitiness in the aroma.
Classic pale ale flavours, leaning towards dry rather than sweet, lively, medium bodied. Very pleasant.
Only disappointment was the finish. Astringent would probably be a bit harsh, but would have liked that flavour to hang around for a bit longer.
Overall, a good example of the type of Pale Ale that’s available in Australia at the moment. I’d buy it again.
