The king of beers. Pale and bright but don’t let this wolf in sheep’s clothing fool you, there’s lots of spicy fresh hop aromas and a fair hit of bitterness making this a beer to be reckoned with.

raisin, herbs, grass, golden, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, light body, lively, astringent. Almost wine-like aroma with strong raisin notes. Nicely sweet and bitter, with a pleasant astringent finish. Though the aroma is a positive at first, as I drank this (poured) it became a bit too harsh and somewhat soured the experience.

355ml can into glass. Light fruity hop nose. Pale yellow beer with fluffy white head. Only a few bubbles. Chalky mouthfeel, subtle citric bitterness. Finish is long. Nice beer. Good sessioner.

very clean nose with lots of noble hops. The mouth is light body clean and dry with good grassy character. Clean finish. Nice stuff.

Can from Kumiyama AEON Mall. Tropical fruit nose, a bit grainy (harsh), citrus, and some grass. Clear medium straw color, thin head, and sloppy lace. Gentle malty initial, thick tropicla fruit and citrus, some mild bitterness in finish. Not bad. An unusual pils, to be sure. This brewery likes to play around with hops.

Can. Pale gold with white head. Aroma is earthy and husky with herbs and a bit of lemon. Sweetish with moderate bitterness, quite lemony. OK, but malt flavours a bit muddled - doesn’t have that clean plain pils malt that can would be nicely seasoned by the hops here.

From a can. Mild aroma, pours clear straw, sharp upfront with a bitter finish. Pretty good.

From a 355ml can (exp 1/9/15), this is better than I expected. Pours clear straw yellow with a decent white head that settles to small stable collar that provides a soapy lace. Nose has sweet grainy malts with notes of citrus, peppers and grassy hops. Palate is crisp and refreshing with a decent dry hop bitterness that satisfies and a light-medium body. A fine session Pilsner in the Northern Germany style.

355ml can. Clear, bright golden yellow in colour with a fine, fading white head. Leafy, peppery aromas to the fore with a zippy citrus centre. Light to medium body, clean, crisp and fresh in the mouth with a firm mid-palate and drying medium carbonation. Finishes with a low intensity, modest length grassy bitterness. A pure, restrained and refreshing pils with a gentle hop bite and lean pale malt balance.

Tap at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear straw colour with lots of bubbles and a frothy white head. The aroma is light malt, yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter with a yeast, hop bitter, light zesty citrus palate and a somewhat unpleasant yeasty aftertaste. Light bodied with lively carbonation.

canned. pale and yellowy with a shortlived frothy head; aroma of peanut skin and old hay; light bitterness. a bit of an insult to pilsen
