Orange colour with very little head. If you likt citrus and citrus this is the beer for you. Almost like an orange soft drink. Still i thought it was highly quaffable over the seafood pizza.

on tap at the apk. a real mess of an apa. murky golden with no real head. sickly sweet aroma suggesting it wasn’t fully fermented. some raw sugar flavour, faint hint of grapefruit but minimal bitterness, some compost nastiness. really bad

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy deep golden with small creamy head. Fruity and yeasty, extremely sweet. The notes of pineapple are very evident, the sulphur less so. It has generous amounts of flowey hops, a soft mouthfeel and a nicely bitter finish, but the sticky sweetness really puts me off.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2006 If the road to excess leads to the palace of wisdom, this Australian pizza joint must be one of the roadside stops. The house policy seems to be for excess in everything from pizza toppings to beer ingredients. The intensity of flavours on the plate and in the glass were at times overwhelming. This pale ale, one of two beers they have on at any one time, arrived at the table a hazy gold with a solid, lasting plug of foam. It had a fresh worty aroma, with some nutty English malt and soft fruits. So far so good. However, in the mouth it degenerates into a syrupy battle between sugar and tangy hop. It’s thick and syrupy, almost fruit juice-like in mouthfeel. There is some tart grapefruit initially, followed by a big hoppy middle palate and a bitter finish. Strong flavours but they don’t cohere. I was momentarily taken with the first mouthful but it quickly became over-sweet and cloying. Less here could be a lot more. (Draught at the pizza restaurant/brewery with omhper)
