COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for the 54 Colorado peaks which tower over 14,000 feet in elevation, our session beer is a spectacular copper hued beauty. The treatment of our water to simulate English hard water and the blending of several specialty malts and hops produce a delicate balance between aromatic maltiness and herbal hops.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2004 ReRate-this was one of my origional ratings on this site, so i thought i would revisit this brew. pours and orange /light copper hue-one of those in-between hues that you cant pinpoint. very small white head that was gone by the time i wrote this sentence. Mostly biscuty malts and earthy hops on the aroma. some pineyness coming through. The hops are all english and very bitter, but there isnot much malt backbone as the aroma shows. If there were more malts, this would be a world class ESB. I just love the hop profile on this one. Thats why i kept the rating as it is. I really enjoyed this beer-im supprised that it has so low of ratings. Crisp hops(cascade or columbus?) and pleasantly bitter! I need to get some more of this. I am very impressed by avery's products. I LOVE the hog heaven :P

Light copper in color with just a bit of haziness. Forms a pretty decent head but it dissipated quickly but left alot of nice sticky lacing. Some sweet honey and breadlike notes. This one is a bit hoppier than a typical ESB, but I was pretty impressed with this beer overall.

Bottled, Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy apricot colour. Citrus and grape up front, with a matching sourish background. Chewy, salty hops with a dry, almost papery finish. Still quite balanced.

Pours a pale amber with no head. Aroma very hoppy and floral, some bready notes too. Flavor is nice and mellow; a good deal of citrusy hops balanced by a nice sweet malty character. Very drinkable.

Much like all Avery beers, the 14er ESB packs quite a flavor punch. I like lots of hops, but not so much in an ESB. Godd beer though.

bottle. Aroma of dried dark fruits, caramel, vino, honey, and herbs. Medium orange amber hue with an average sized white head that mostly diminished and left some lace. Flavor is sweet malts and hops. Palate is light bodied and soft. The aroma is fantastic. Nice barely wine malts and hops. The flavor is good and finishes with some bitters. I kept wanting more but the finish is a little off. Otherwise it’s top notch.

bottle. clear amber pour. efferevecent. nice tiny bubble off white head. Great aroma. grapefruit, hops. great malts. slight floral aroma. Very smooth. nice hops. bitter bite. earth and grass. a nice esb. I don’t think this beer is worthy of so many of the poor ratings. This is a go to at the cooler.

bottle. rating #500 for Avery 14er ESB! pours a deep golden with a bit of white head. pleasant deep hop aroma with some underlying malt. nice palate - light and spicy bitterness up front, with medium sides that carry the malts. solid bitter finish that sticks with you a bit. overall a very nice ESB.

Citrus and spicy nose. Honey orange color. mild resiny bitterness. Decent malt balance, could be a little sweeter. Good body, pillowy head. A solid ESB
