Skeegle (313), USA Dec 4, 2007 Nice crisp taste. A bit like sweet tea with a hint of caramel. Nice wispy head that laces well.
The_Jester (474), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 29, 2008 355 mL bottle. Copper-brown with a nice "rocky" head. The aroma definitely makes this an American ESB, with nothing but floral/citrus hops. The flavour is nice, with the floral hops and sweetish caramel malt. No bitterness ’til the end. Crisp. Very drinkable. LadySusan (365), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada Aug 29, 2008 Taster at The Mondial de la biere 08 in Montreal. The color is a dark honey with a beige head. The aroma is somewhat sweet. The taste is of hops and fruity, with a bitter finish that does not last long as it should, Not that remarkable for an E.S.B. darn1207 (240), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2008 12oz bottle. hazy orange pour with medium white head. floral, hop and honey aroma. bitter hops and lemon in the taste with just a touch of the malt showing through. tasty and drinkable enough - but not all that complex. K-6.5 polomagnifico (413), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Aug 21, 2008 bottle. Aroma of dried dark fruits, caramel, vino, honey, and herbs. Medium orange amber hue with an average sized white head that mostly diminished and left some lace. Flavor is sweet malts and hops. Palate is light bodied and soft. The aroma is fantastic. Nice barely wine malts and hops. The flavor is good and finishes with some bitters. I kept wanting more but the finish is a little off. Otherwise it’s top notch. Glouglouburp (1935), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 20, 2008 In short: Crusty pie and a ton of leafy English hops, this a crisp and fresh boosted ESB. Tasty and underrated (tap version at least)
How: Tap at Ginger Man NYC
The look: Clear copper body topped y a long lasting medium off-white head
In long: Malt contribution is rich crisp caramel, brown sugar somewhat reminiscent of a crusty sugar pie dipped in caramel. Then comes a ton of leafy hops with a dry tree leaves and tea flavour. This is a tasty beer. I haven’t had the bottle but I find the tap very well brewed and above all there was that freshness sensation that cannot be put into words but raises the score nonetheless. Like a typical ESB only this one is on steroids and pushes the style limit. Underrated tasty session brew, maybe it loses its fresh crisp character when bottled. If you didn’t like the bottle give a try to the tap, you won’t regret it, unless of course you don’t like it on tap either, in which case you will regret it, either way I’m right.
