3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Reid (1433) - Salem,Oregon, USA - AUG 15, 2004
Ok the beer pours a nice light brown, next to zero head..some good lace though.
Very nice and uplifting aroma strong malts that match the hop aroma.
This is a really tasty ESB, and as the "blurb" says it is balaned rather in the English way. That is while the hops are there and the bitterness abounds near the end, also the malts at the start are strong and complex enough to match the hops..good stuff.
Fells pretty smooth on the palte and this is a very drinkable ale..very nice.

Bottle from Total Wine and More in Cherry Hill, NJ. Clear deep amber supporting a thin light tan head. Lightly biscuity, malty, nutty aroma. Quick citrus note up front then plenty of toasted malt, biscuits and cereal. Surprisingly full mouthfeel and a very dry finish.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Scrapersnbeer (446) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Aroma of caramel with granite and metal. Hazed amber, not heady. Off-bitter flavor that’s also a bit starchy. Feels heavier at first than on finish, where it dries out. A hill rather than a mountain.

355mL bottle poured a golden-orange color with a nice off-white head and some lovely lacing. Aroma of floral hops and toasted malts. Taste is nicely balanced between the floral and citrus hops and the lightly toasted malty sweetness. This is an awesome bitter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hayduke (2526) - Eureka, California, USA - MAY 19, 2011
Joint tasting with Strykzone via Facebook Chat. Poured and orange to copper color with an off-white head and good lacing rings. Nose of floral hops and malts. . Medium bodied wit a very smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is a very good balance between malts and hops with citrus and flowers. Bitter finish and more citrus. A simply delicious beer.

(Bottle, party downstairs at Falling Rock) clear copper, foamy tan head. Nose of cherry, caramel, bit oxidized, and brown sugar. Taste of hoppy oils, caramel and brown sugar, creamy dry body. It’s quite thick.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 theisti (2441) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - MAR 26, 2011
12 oz bottle purchased at Royal in KCMO. Pour is hazed copper golden with a big and noisy three inch off white head. The head is rocky and lasting. Aroma is caramel sweetness, along with floral honey and a touch of grassiness. Pretty sweet malty nose, but clean enough. Taste is the caramel honey sweetness right away, turning toward the floral, which is almost herbal in the back. The finish has some mildly spicy yeastiness poking through. Palate is medium to lighter bodied, very carbonated and the spiced herbal finish. After that clears, the caramel honey comes back out in the finish. The first bottle out of this six pack seemed to have an infection, this one tasted much better and cleaner.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Thorpe429 (3823) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - FEB 16, 2011
On tap at the brewery in August 2009. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a nice crisp golden color with a fluffy who’re head and some good lacing. Nose brings some nice bready malt and a bit of earthy and grassy hops. Taste backs off with restrained hops and a bit of dough. Feel is light and slightly bitter. Drinks quite well and was an enjoyable starting point.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 AlephNull3 (114) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 5, 2011
Pours a slightly cloudy golden like jue. A small quickly vanishing head. Aroma not real distinct, slight hints of alcohol. Taste somewhat watery, heavily carbonated with a slight hint of wheat or citrus hard to pinpoint. The first 4 I had tasted better than the one I’m having tonight. If you like ESBs this is worth trying. Not a high ranking beer on my list.
