Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

This ale pours a amber-burnt orange color with white and off-white variable sized creamy looking bubbles, there is a faint haze of fine particles in this ale, a fine layer of sediment on the bottom of the bottle, aromas of citrus hops, malt sweetness with some fruit fragrances, lots of hop bitterness, pale malt and malt fruit flavors with sugar sticky sweetness, faint caramel, I noticed some very faint alcohol flavor in the background as the ale reached room temperature, a hop bitterness and alcohol warmth is present after the finish, has a full mouth feel, nice drink, not a blow out but very nice.

Golden-amber colour and a bubbly head. Explosive piney, citrusy nose with cantaloupe and orange peel. Bright orange taste with a hint of kiwi, florals and grapefruit. There’s a bit of sweetness, but not cloying (maybe a little crystal?). Finishes with more refreshing hops and a slightly sticky malt underpinning.

Poured a clear effervescent amber with a fizzy/frothy white head. The aroma is rich and inviting with notes of grapefruit and orange with some notes of sticky candy and undertones of refreshing pine. Flavor is refreshingly bitter with notes of orange peel and some ruby red grapefruit with some fresh pine. Some sweetness is in there as well. Not as heavy as I expected it to be... a nice body but just the refreshing flavors I wanted from this. Surprisingly complex yet light and drinkable. I enjoyed this.

Pours a hazy orange amber with a huge white head, excellent retention, excellent lacing, awesome looking beer... Aroma of orange, cream, and tea like hops... Flavor profile matches the aroma with a balance of mildly sweet malts to accentuate the tea hops and the notes of orange citrus... Fullish bodied, nicely carbonated...

pours a hazy tan-orange color with a thick and creamy head...great retention and lacing! hugely aromatic with loads of citrus...pineapple and grapefruit...and a light malt backing. flavor is very hoppy yet balanced. earthy, bready malts with loads of grapefruit. it is oily on the tongue with a dry, lingering tea-like grapefruit finish. outstanding.

Bottle and served in NB Worthy snifter: Coppery sunset hue with an initial big frothy head which left lots of lacework upon he glassware. The aroma has notes of grapefruit, dragonfruit, caramel and bready malts, some sugar, and mineral water. The taste is a mostly balanced combination of sweet malt and bitter hops with a hint of DMS and astringent flavors. Hop spice clove and pepper finish does help clean up the sweetness. A touch too mellow and sweet IMO, more akin to an aged barley wine than an aggressive ASA. Still more than good enough to drink. The mouth feel is sticky and syrupy with a metallic and slight alcohol finish. All in all it is a solid brew but nothing I would want to run out and buy again.

(22oz bottle) Medium off-white head atop lightly hazed amber body, nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some spice, caramel, light peach. Taste is sweet, grapefruit, melon/kiwi, caramel. Sticky medium-full body. Too sweet in my book, but otherwise quite tasty.
