Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 01/24/2009. Clear copper amber body with a medium frothy off-white head and some sticky lacing. Big hoppy floral and citrus aroma with some caramel. Sweet caramel flavor with some floral and citrus hops. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

Nice and hoppy and balanced other than the hop attack. A huge hop citrus / grapefruit flavor rolls over everything. Super Yummy

beautiful amber color with decnt white head, good bubbles too. aroma is upfront spicy hops and some sweet malt. some definite piny spicy hops dominate up front with good balance of sweetness and theb the hops hit again on the finish. nice beer, hate the premise behind it.

In celebration of our new presidents first major speech, unfortunately this isn’t quite as good as the speech. While tasty and pretty, the aroma is nearly nonexistant.

Amber color with a white head. Aroma is hops and some yeast. Flavor is more hops with a strong sweet alcohol aftertaste. Not bad, but I felt the alcohol in the finish is a little too overpowering.

Pours a cloudy amber with a moderate white head. Aroma is piney hops and apricots. Flavor is a hint of grapefruit and apricot that are almost overpowered by the piney hops. Just kind of a one-trick pony with the hops. It wasn’t bad but, for something marketed as a "special" brew, I thought it was kind of lacking in complexity.

Aroma is sugary and full of apples. Flavor is more apples, citrus hops and a little raisin. Very sweet.

22oz bottle $6.99. Perfectly clear orange color with a huge foamy white head clinging to the glass. It smells like juicy oranges, pretty nice. It tastes very hoppy, green hops, some vegetal flavors like melon rinds, grass, a little pine. There is a nice dryness and a little astringency. Overall this seems like a West Coast hop bomb to me and reminds me of Coronado Idiot IPA. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-27-2008 02:27:27
