Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

Bottle (22oz). Poure hazy orange with a large lasting fluffy-creamy off-white head, even solid lacing left behind. Lush aroma of orange and orange zest, moderate alcohol, dry leafy mildly resiny bitterness, slightly spicy. The taste was fairly dry, not as sweet as I figured it would be, restrained bitterness balancing fruity malt, perhaps a touch more of an alcohol kick than optimum, but very enjoyable indeed. Chewy, lively mouthfeel, not at all aggressive, although the alcohol won’t let you forget its presence - fairly quick-finishing, and no bitter aftertaste - a very satisfying quaff, I’d drink another one.

Hazy amber color; big head; nice lace. The aroma is malty, hoppy and fruity; there is sweet caramel, light mango and light resins; so typical American; very good. Good body strength, strong malt flavor, well sweet, sweet caramel and toffee, and powerful bitterness, with some orange-like fruitness; ligth resin in the final, still sweet. Very good American Strong Ale.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a small off-white head and has some spotty lacing. Big intense hoppy aroma with pine, grapefruit, caramel and citrus. Flavor is caramel malts, piney resin, citrus zest, grapefruit and fruity sweetness with a medium body and a dry hoppy finish.

A lot like a IIPA, actually. The aroma was hoppy, floral and citrus, and sweet, bready malts. It was a nice combination. The appearnce was an attractive reddish gold color, again like a IIPA. The flavor was sweet malts, bread dough, and grapefruit citrus hops. THe finish has a nice citrus bitterness to it as well. I am not an Obama fan, but this is a well crafted beer.

Bomber from Total Beverage. Nice, thick head with beautiful lacing. Copper/orange in color. Aroma is well balanced; sweet citrus and hoppy notes. Excellent mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Balanced on the tongue. Malty sweetness and delicious spicy hop profile. Good stuff!

An amazing beer. Pours a cherry wood brown, hazy like lake water after a storm. A great head, which nearly coats the entire glass as it goes down. Smells of sweet grapefruit, hops, wildflowers, and ... honey? Tastes of hops, grass, sour grapefruit, and caramel malts. Great balance to this beer, especially considering the ABV. Careful, it would be easy to drink too many.

Mint? Citrus.. Balanced. Its odd that its balanced for this strong of a beer. The taste is like a San Diego DIPA reigned in. The sweet and bitter clashes slightly on the finish but you can only notice that because its so good.
