COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It’s Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

Type: Draft Glass: Half pint glass From: URGE American Gastropub in Rancho Bernardo (San Diego, Calif.) Price: $4.00 Misc.: N/A Poured a red caramel color with a finger (when I got it) of off-white head that lasted for awhile. Good looking circular lacing on the sides. Nice layer of on the top as it went down. Smelled soap, butter and bitter piny hops. Tasted bitter piny hops, grapefruit, weak floral hops and soap with a huge alcohol bite. Medium body. Thin-to-oily texture. Lively (above average) carbonation. Bitter finish. Just wasn’t a fan of his beer. Lots of alcohol in the taste, but the flavor just didn’t match up.

Sample on tap at The Lackman. Pours a clear copper orange color. Some bubbles on the side of the glass, initially. Minimal white head, that leaves decent lace. Not much nose. Caramel malts, rye grains, toasty earthy hops. Herbal flavor. Bigger body, light carbonation. More dry finish. Sweeter taste, some bitterness in the finish. Real solid, interesting American Strong, with a good grainy hoppiness to balance out the malts.

Rosehip and light orange peel. Clear copper, thin head. Rosehip and whole orange flavor, very slight fusel alcohol notes. Leafy finish. Well balanced medium body. Easily drinkable DIPA.

In the glass it has an amber color with a small head. There is some hops and pine that I notice in the glass. The taste is resin and some citrus. Not a big flavor though, rather mild considering it was on tap.

Cloudy amber orange color. Large, sticky off-white head. The aroma is danky. The flavor is too and tastes like how primo budding hop cones smell. Its a potent beer with an up-front punch and a creamy backend. It leaves a sticky, foamy residue all over the glass.

Tap sample poured into a wine glass. Clear copper color with a small white head. Spicy herbal hop nose with some piney tones, caramel malt and mandarin. Hi bitterness, resinous hop flavor, some nuts and peaches. Medium body, long bitter finish, alcohol well hidden. Nice.

Clear copper/dark gold with a thin white head. Firm hoppy nose with grassy floral tones, with a firm earthy malty nutty backbone. The taste has a huge flavor with incredible balance. Nice leafy earthy hoppiness with a earthy malty toffee and caramel backbone. Nice big bitterness but restrained enough to be smooth and balanced.

Ale to a new chief, outstanding hop scent on this beer, almost like smelling a fresh hop. Taste is a super ran blend of citrus and hop notes, probably one of my favorite pale alea. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
