This was a weird fucking beer, i must say. Had some traces of goodness (never greatness), but was altogether a mess of flavor. A bit hoppy and bitter at times, but their is an off flavor--rubber bands..band-aids...something that really detracts from my overall enjoyment of this beer. GAManiac (1160), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Pours a clear amber with slight hints of red with a huge fluffy white head that lingered for a long while and left good lacing.
The aroma is fairly tame for a DIPA, starting with some floral pine hop aromas with a big sweet malty backbone. Citrus hops come on in the finish.
The taste is much more hop-forward than the nose let on. The pine hops hit hard up front with a nice abrasive bitterness that also shows up the finish. In between, the sweet caramel malts are present but less dominant than the aroma.
The mouthfeel follows on from the taste with a hop resin stickiness and good carbonation.
The drinkability is good but pretty abrasive with hops. This is a decent DIPA and one that I recommend. hapjydeuce (771), Del Mar, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Bottled from PP Bottle Shop. Sampled this while watching the Chargers get their asses kicked by the Dolphins. Really good imperial pale. Clear bronze color with a fat off-white head that lasts with seriously sticky lacing. Looks amazing! Malty aroma with a fresh greenery. Great base to the flavor, robust and thick crystal malts, finishing well-balanced with an earthy blast of Cascade hops. Yummy. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2008 I wish I could write a better review, but this beer didn’t really reach out and grab me like I thought it would. It was definitely well-made, but just not all that memorable. It’s the sort of beer that wouldn’t really do so well in a blind tasting because nothing really stands out about it that much. Dark orange pour. Medium-bubbly head. Bready malts behind an aggressively spicy hop profile. That’s about it. Skinnyviking (4158), Copenhagen, Denmark

Nice floral hoppy aroma with grainy pale malt, and a whiff of oxidation. Medium body and smooth. Floral, citrusy, and piney hop flavors riding a lightly sweet bready pale malt base. Finishes with a bitter alcohol twang. rocbyter (916), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
