Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

tap at monks- pours reddish orange brownish. nose is big grassy, so resinous, so fresh, so overpowering. its like 1000000 new zealand sauvingon blancs. but better. taste is big resiny long lasting finish. very well balanced, grass, so good. great hints of rasberry fruits as well.

Bomber picked up at the Carrboro Beverage Company across the street from my apartment. This was a weird fucking beer, i must say. Had some traces of goodness (never greatness), but was altogether a mess of flavor. A bit hoppy and bitter at times, but their is an off flavor--rubber bands..band-aids...something that really detracts from my overall enjoyment of this beer.

Pours a clear amber with slight hints of red with a huge fluffy white head that lingered for a long while and left good lacing. The aroma is fairly tame for a DIPA, starting with some floral pine hop aromas with a big sweet malty backbone. Citrus hops come on in the finish. The taste is much more hop-forward than the nose let on. The pine hops hit hard up front with a nice abrasive bitterness that also shows up the finish. In between, the sweet caramel malts are present but less dominant than the aroma. The mouthfeel follows on from the taste with a hop resin stickiness and good carbonation. The drinkability is good but pretty abrasive with hops. This is a decent DIPA and one that I recommend.

Bottled from PP Bottle Shop. Sampled this while watching the Chargers get their asses kicked by the Dolphins. Really good imperial pale. Clear bronze color with a fat off-white head that lasts with seriously sticky lacing. Looks amazing! Malty aroma with a fresh greenery. Great base to the flavor, robust and thick crystal malts, finishing well-balanced with an earthy blast of Cascade hops. Yummy.

I wish I could write a better review, but this beer didn’t really reach out and grab me like I thought it would. It was definitely well-made, but just not all that memorable. It’s the sort of beer that wouldn’t really do so well in a blind tasting because nothing really stands out about it that much. Dark orange pour. Medium-bubbly head. Bready malts behind an aggressively spicy hop profile. That’s about it.

Draught. High white creamy and lasting head. Hazy amber body. Fresh fruity hoppy aroma and flavor. Low carbonation. Long bitter aftertaste.

Clear amber with a frothy tan head. Nice floral hoppy aroma with grainy pale malt, and a whiff of oxidation. Medium body and smooth. Floral, citrusy, and piney hop flavors riding a lightly sweet bready pale malt base. Finishes with a bitter alcohol twang.

Light hop and mild yeast aroma. Hazy orange color with a thick medium tan head. Fruit hop beginning that fades in the finish.
