Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

22oz bottle. pours clear amber with white head. sweet malt aroma with some faded hop notes of mango and slight lawn clippings. flavor of crystal malts, some fruity hop notes, mango, grapefruit. i don’t get what the big deal is here, this is just a decent beer and way overpriced at $6.99/bomber.

Not sure why this is called a strong ale. It seems to be primarily an IPA, but it does have some noticeable malts mixed with the hops.

On tap @ Jake’s Bar and Bistro - oh, wow! This beer is like a baby Maharaja... Avery is probably one of the most interesting breweries we have access to in Washington, Great Belgian Beers, IPA’s, Funky styles, etc... please seek this beer out, or have a glass at Jake’s!

Pours clear amber with a smallish off-white head. Aroma of earthy and spicey hops lots of malt to and some alcohol. Taste is very fruity and earthy with notes of melon, wood, and caramel. Syrupy mouthfeel, light bubbles.

I was surprised to see this pulled out from behind the counter at Trinity hall. Pours a reddish amber color with a small light brown colored head. NOse is intense hops, grass, citrus, and toasted malt. Taste is sweet, woody, toasted, and has a nice hop punch and pronounced bitterness. Just a very solid beer.

Almost a 2 inch high head of varying sized bubbles off-white in color. Excellent carbonation creeping up the side of the glass. Strong resinous hops aroma with some grapefruit and caramel. Color is a dark orange with a feint haze to it. This brew looks fantastic sitting in my Tripel Karmeliet glass. Fit the entire 22oz in there. NICE!!! Hoppy flavor with a decent bitterness. More grapefruit and resin. Lighter malt presence than expected with some more caramel and a bit of spices. Dry and a little astringent on the palate. Rather strong alcohol presence and kick at the finish that it very nasaly. Finishes warm and bitter. Lots of lingering hops presence. A damn fine ASA. Very much enjoyed this one.

22oz bottle. Poured light amber with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma of heavy hops and a touch of iris. A bit sweeter than expected, tastes of apple, caramel and malt, and hoppy in the finish. A very nice Avery offering, as usual.
