Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

Nice dark orange with minimal head enjoyed out of a Westmalle Trappist glass. Big, rich nose with candied fruit and a lot of sweetness. Nice, piney hop notes as well. The malts give it a nice mouth feel and continue with the sweetness from the nose. Nice licorice and orange peel. Nicely balanced by the hops and finishes with a nice bitterness. Definitely improves and becomes more complex as it reaches room temp.

As an Avery, I was wary - I just haven’t had much luck with enjoying beer from this brewery...but I was pleasantly suprised with this beer. I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617 and at first thought it was a bit too malty, but over the course of time it was in my hand, it got warmer and a lot better! It poured a nice orangy amber color with an off white head. Aroma was sweet, citrus and malt. Initially tasted very sweet and malty, but then after a short while, the hops started to appear. I was really happy with this beer :)

Anytime I have the opportunity to have an American Strong style ale, I leap at it. Something about this style just resonates with me. This beer is very nice. It pours out a cloudy golden amber color, lighter than some ASA’s. A nice 2" thick off-white head. Big malt aroma, sticky caramel with an equally big citrus aroma. It definitely treads on b/w territory. Flavor has a great balance between juicy citrus hops and rich caramel malts. Alcohol seems well tucked away with this beer. Very nice.

True to its description, this beer has an excellent selection and balance of malt and hops. Wanted to crack this one on innaguration day but 5 months later and it was worth the wait.

I want to give this beer a good rating just because of the great theming. Pretty tasty, and just a great bottle if you read the whole thing.

This beer has a nice hop flavor with a hint of carmel. Very smooth, not as bitter as a lot of American Strong Ales of this quality. Pours a light amber color with white head. Very cool bottle and description, definitely something to check out if you see it on the shelf even if you don’t buy it.

On tap at Barley’s Smokehouse. Clear amber pour with a big off-white head. Citrusy hop aroma with lots of malt as well. Apple flavor up front with some citrus hop bitterness and bready malt.

aroma of strong sticky malt. flavor is well balanced with good bitterness but plenty of malt to speak of as well. similar to a barley wine in many aspects. light plastic/rubber notes in aroma.
