3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2009 release, sampled at the brewery during GABF week. Tart, fruity, sweet, vinous aroma, some trace of the port, with hints of grape, cherry, honey, toast and wood. Clear light-medium amber color, head is off-white and fine. Flavor is strongly winey and woody with some lighter sour touches, lots of grape, honeyish sweetness, perhaps some faint peppery alcohol and late tannins. Acidic, dry, amply carbonated palate, very full body. Interesting, unique stuff.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2012 Slight sour-lactic aroma. Nice amber-orange hue. Flavors are sweet and sour...a bit of cherry with a defined port character....unbelievably good!
Notes: Brewery visit during ’09 GABF

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Avery tasting room GABF week 2009. Dark gold. Very winey with the brett not overwhelming. Tart and also a bit sweet. Deep rich undertones and too easy to drink. My favorite from the tasting room.

Stone Sour Fest, San Diego 2009.
Aroma reminded me of orange blossoms and the taste was mostly bitterness. Some spices in there as well. The body was clear orange.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
First beer sampled during gabf week 2009. Draft from taproom. Great way to kickoff this party. Awesome brew with a hint of Brett sourness and the saltiness of a bw matched with port undertones.
