3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 FlacoAlto (3143) - Tucson, USA - JUN 12, 2004
Pours a clear copper color and is topped by a thick tan head. There is an immediate intense pungent, funky aroma that is comprised of a mix of grass, hay, citrus, hop funk, and pine needles. The flavor of this beer is loaded with a pungent hop flavor as well. This is not as bitter as I was expecting, but I am also drinking this at 58*F. The body is medium, almost approaching full, and there is a malty sweetness that is just overpowered by the hops. No alcohol is evident in the finish, which is a good thing.
I am not too sure what it is, but this seems to be lacking something... I do get notes of apricot, citrus, pine, orange, and a certain resinous hop nectar quality, which is all quite tasty. This beer is definitely not over the top bitter, either, and could probably use a little extra oomph in that department, but I did enjoy this beer, it is pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 travita (2647) - Frisco, Texas, USA - FEB 23, 2009
Bottle thanks to Lumpy. The smell is cardboard, definetly past its prime, also hops, pine, and citrus. The look is clear, with a white head, and golden in color. The taste is malts, low bitterness, sort of blah. You can tell the bones might have been there but the meat fell off.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ilovedarkbeer (1884) - Abilene, Texas, USA - FEB 21, 2009
Bottle thanks to Lumpy. Pours a nice amber orange color with a small canvas colored head. Nose is wet paper, fruit, and earth. Taste is same with lots of sweetness. Sticky mouthfeel and medium finish that drops off quickly which shows its age.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (6444) - Los Angeles, California, USA - FEB 20, 2009
2004 bottle thanks to lumpy. Obviously past its hop prime, but who makes a DIPA as an anniversary beer to age? Pours with a hazy orange body and a large head that fades and leaves good lace. Aroma is barley wine, malty, maple aroma, cardboard, fruits, dirt and no real hops. Similar malt profile to the Maharajah. Taste is sweet with cardboard, orange, caramel and light alcohol. Lively bubbles.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Swalden28 (2656) - McKinney, Texas, USA - FEB 20, 2009
Bottle thanks to Lumpy. Pours a hazy amber with off-white head. Aroma is malty, hoppy, some pine. Flavor has malt, brown sugar, cardboard, some grapefruit. Mouthfeel is heavy body with low-medium carbonation. Overall, this beer was pretty old when I had it tonight.....Has survived the years ok....
3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ucusty (2670) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JUN 4, 2008
Amber pour slightly over carbonated. Grapefruit and piney hops on the nose, which in my opinion is all this beer has to offer. I bet it was a great beer fresh. I wasn’t sure if I should rate this, but since it was still somewhat enjoyable im gonna go for it. Very sweet flavor profile that was no longer very well balanced.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAY 20, 2008
Bottle. Pours amber orange with a small off white head. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, and harsh hoppiness. Flavor is overpowered hoppiness with little malt coming through. Feels like metalic copper twine as you bite back on liquid hop flower. Ou this is hoppy yet somehow redeeming and enjoyable.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 dolemite77 (184) - Maryville, Tennessee, USA - APR 25, 2008
Pours a hazy orange, with a thin head that dissipates. Fairly sweet beer, which explains the minimal head, but maximum lacing. Aroma is sweet, but not extremely hoppy. More fruity. Flavor is good, there is a strong hop bite to it, with a lot of different hop flavors. A little too sweet for me, but these double IPAs can sometimes be that way. Liked it a LOT more than the 120 minute Dogfishhead I had last night.
