COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
15 years of brewing! You know what’s been the best part lately? Tons of experimentation! For the last couple of years, we’ve been working with several strains of brettanomyces (wild yeast). We found one and deemed it the best for it’s tart flavor and funky, fruity aroma. Adding black mission figs for a subtle jammy aspect, hibiscus flowers for an herbal bouquet and hazy sunset hue, and white pepper for a bit of spicy twang, we’ve created FIFTEEN - a unique drinking experience inspired by the wild farmhouse ales of Belgium. Though immensely complex today, more flavor will emerge with time, so throw a few bottles in your cellar for future celebrations. Thanks to all of you who have made our 15-year ride possible! Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, hops, black mission figs, hibiscus flowers, white pepper, and a very unique strain of brettanomyces yeast.

Pours a golden color with a huge amount of white head. Has a brett and sour nose to it. Taste is light funk, belgian yeast, some light fruit in there as well. I was hoping it would be more sour but wasn’t really sour at all.

Poured a nice deep cloudy amber gold, with a fair amount of head. The bottle mentions funk, and I was pretty sure that’s what my nose picked up too... Funk; smelled like straws and hays. The taste was very interesting. At first the palate is filled with the aforementioned funk, but it quickly mellows out into some pleasantly fruity vibes. The carbonation level was pretty low, hardly there at all really. It also left the mouth a little dry. An interesting beer, glad I picked a bottle up. Serving type: bottle

(22oz bottle from Whip-In at home with weeAnaP) 11 ounces in my snifter… the other 11 in my wee Ana P’s. My first beer in over two weeks! A relatively clear bod with the typical orange Belgian color, its frothy white head bubbled away in about 4- minutes, leaving no lacing at all. Its aroma was hard to place. It reminded me of hand soap - the industrial kind scented like whatever it is that the threw into Fifteen’s boil. Maybe it’s (alcoholic) hibiscus? Its taste is tart (or is that the dryness?), feel it straight down the gullet with a soft tingle on the middle of the tongue. The underside of my tongue is tearing up. You can tell from a mile away it’s a Belgian-style, and a musky one. Nothing too out of the ordinary there. Its body is light and on the verge of syrupy. Lively, but hard on the throat after a while. Too dry and too sweet for my taste. But maybe I’m being too critical.

Pour is cloudy yellow with a creamy head. Good lacing. Smells lightly of a fruity yeast, lemon most likely from the hibiscus and lots of honey. A nice feel, thin but not watery. Taste is earthy like swiss chard or beets; some spice: star anise, cinnamon; and a slight sweetness.

Bottle giddily shared by hellbilly -- thanks! Pours golden in color with a white head of foam. Smells of assorted condiments and berries -- almost like Hommage, actually. Tastes strange: green peppers, bile, flowers, and mixed peppercorns. Unsure how I feel about this one.

Appearance: Pours a yellow gold with a white head that subsides to almost nothing. The body is clear, with some tiny yeast particles flying around, and a few rising bubbles. Aroma: Of note, I could smell the funk from 2 feet away after pouring into my glass. Strong brett, including hoofy barnyardy goodness, hay and rain water, and wet dog. Getting closer to the beer, I smell sweet fruits, figs, citrus, and honeydew. I also smell a decent amount of spices, cloves and nutmeg in there. Taste: Bitter hops, metal, funky bready yeast, figs. Finishes really dry and rusty. I don’t eat as much rust as I used to, but believe me...rusty. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, a little juicy. Overall: I enjoyed this a little more fresh last year. Some bitterness really popped out of this one.

pours small fluffy white head . smells great wild yeast definitely present, hits of sugar as well. while tasting toasty malts are known but the underlying natural sweetness from the fig is strong .

Bottle at Where the Wild Beers Are. Pale golden pour with standard white head. Yeasty aroma backed by figs and bubblegum. Tastes of bubblegum, nutmeg, white pepper, figs, and a touch of milk a day or two past its expiration date. There’s something a touch off in the sweet-sour balance, but there are some pleasant saison qualities.
