Bottle shared with the wolf and 2 other. Thank Martin for this treat. Pours a deep wine red colour with a medium head leaving a good lacing. Quite sweet toasty aroma with dark fruits, hops and alcohol. Good mouthfeel. Roasted, bitter, dry fruitish flavour with a nice maltiness, some spices and some alcohol. Very tasty brew.

Bottle. [shared with faroeviking @ Plan B, thanks to Plan B for a taste of this!]
Pours a deep nutty red-black with a small creamy beige head - lots of lacing. Aroma is hoppy, lightly roasted with a touch of chocolate. Flavour is round, roasted, dry, chocolate and still light and fresh. A touch vinious, but never alcoholic. This is a wonderful brew!
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Maria (8572) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2008
Dark mahogany with a red hue and a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has sweetness, malt, caramel, fruit and hops. The flavour is sweetish but with a nice hoppyness and a surprisingly nice bitterness. It has notes of malt, fruit, grapefruit, hops and the finish is dry. IMO a tiny bit out of balance, but it is a very nice beer! Thank you so much Tom/After4ever!!
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Pinball (8561) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2009
bottle from ølbutikken, enjoyed at home after work. (bottled in 2007)
dark almost clear brown/very dark amber, large smooth light brown head.
sweet malty aroma, some dark fruits, some alc, a few hops have survived the aging. chocolate. complex aroma.
flavor is sweet malty, mouldy or a little oxidized, faint chocolate, dark fruits, strong alc, but not unpleasant, sweetness is balanced by a spicy peppery slight piny flavor, could be hops. in general it reminds me of what would happen if you mixed up 1/2 barley wine and 1/4th belgish quad and 1/4th imp. stout.. As it warmed up the mouldy flavor got away entirely, but i got some licorice and roasted grains instead. this rating then reflects the entire experience, cause it sure got better as it warmed up.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Christian (8548) - Odense, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2007
Dark ruby beery with a lasting light beige head. Initial aroma is "dry hopped Avery", with that great balance of the grapefruit, the peach and the pine. Also some chocolate, molasses, wood, caramel and a hint of alcohol.
Flavour is rather sweet, full of dark, roast malt, chocolate, and a little alcohol. Long aftertaste of classic porter "charcoal". Unusual and a little confusing to drink since aroma and flavour doesn’t quite match.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 madsberg (7526) - Søborg, DENMARK - OCT 19, 2007
Bottled. Ruby red and mahogany coloured. Huge chocolate brown dense head. Quite impressive sight. Caramel, ripe fruits like raisins and prunes in the aroma. Has a somewhat sweet and and flowery note and some alcohol is notable. Flavour is a bit subdued. Caramel there again. Some liqourice and spice. Brown sugar and fruits. Prunes again and light raisins. Is quite full bodied. Quite dry. To me it has a light smoked character. Ends on a medium and quite pleasant bitterness, which transform into some applenotes. Alcohol leaves a bit warmth on the lips and palate. Quite nice and pleasant beverage.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hopscotch (7523) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2007
Bottle… Very dark crimson ale with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. Decent retention. Loads of phenols and esters in the aroma. Notes of campfire smoke, tobacco, fig, chocolate-covered banana, pine and light molasses with just a hint of vanilla and a whisper of lactic acid. Moderately acidic and fairly sweet up front. Heavy, metallic bitterness on the backside. The alcohol isn’t overbearing. Medium to full-bodied and lightly oily with fair carbonation. Lightly acidic, stunningly bitter finish. Creative, but confused. A touch too bitter for my tender palate.
