COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

On Draft @ Hamiltons. Rich dark ale with a clear carafa malt chocolate nose. Velvety texture and full bodied. A mix between a belgian strng ale, american strong ale, Schwarzbier. Unique and delicious

This was a share @ woodshop Classix Aug 27th 2011. Notes are as follows: Dark beer with some give towards purples, a bruise in a glass. Deep dark fruit notes with a tad bit of swirling raisin muskiness. Taste is very rustic dark fruit, lots of age seems present in this. Figs and prunes linger with an in check sweetness. The prune is in between old plum and ripe prune, quite nice. The flavor and feel is pretty good, reasonably creamy despite a lack of carb. The flavor is still strong in the beer, but I would crack this if you have a bottle. I don’t see this getting better.

Dark chestnut brown with a fair head and lace. Aromas of molasses, and dark floral fruit. Medium body, sweet tastes of raisins, malt, dark fruits, and a light balance of dry hops. Finishes sweet.

Poured into a Unibroue snifter. Dark brown with light tan head. Pours with a 3 inch thick head, quickly disappears. Head returns with quick agitation. Smell is strong of raisins, nutty Taste is great. raisins, nutty, sweet, malty backbone very limited carbonation with esters following but not overpowering. Very surprising brew. Enjoyed it!!

Bomber from Halftime. Huge whiff of malt as bottle is opened and poured. Thick. Color is very dark brown almost black. Smells great. Monster big beer, malty yet not nearly as sweet as expected. Hoppy ending but not an IPA. Really well balanced and well done. I wish I bought two!

this beer smells just like The Beast - but the taste is no comparison. Pours nice dark brown color, nice foamy head. Tastes like a sweet porter. blah blah blah. it’s ok for 4.99.

Pours brown with a tan head. Hoppy initial aroma with some spice flavor. Flavor is hops, some spice, and alcohol. Complex enough to be intersting, but unbalanced.

Poured from a bomber to a snifter. A: Pours a very dark brown that appears black. Very large light-brown head with good retention and some web-like lacing. S: Very sweet malts with lots of dark fruits (raisins, cherry and berries) with a bit of chocolate and some hops. Smells very good. Kinda has the smell of a barleywine more than a BSDA. I never would have guessed the style upon smell. T: Just like the scent, lots of dark fruit, chocolate, molasses, maltiness and hops. Hits sweet and leaves a raisin taste on the finish with a note of chocolate and malt. Not as hoppy as it smells. I’m really loving the taste, but it’s not very consistent with the style. M&D: Mouthfeel is perfect, medium-heavy bodied with a great amount of carbonation, but not so much that it’s distracting. It’s pretty drinkable, the alcohol doesn’t come out much. A bomber is perfect for one person. Overall: Although it’s not consistent with the style I really love this beer. It’s very unique and hard to find these days. It’s drinking great now, so get it if you can!
