COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 14 wonderful years, we have been creating libations for ourselves in the hope that some others out there would share our eccentric palates and support us. Many thanks to all of you who do! Here is yet another quirky brew: a very dark and different, dry-hopped ale. Style? hard to say, you decide. Just expect massive molasses maltiness, limitless fruits on the nose and an imposing floral & zesty dry-hop finish. Peace to all and follow your dreams!

Pours a dark ruby with a large tan head. Lots of grapefruit and pine in the nose, with a good bit of malts as well. Taste is similar with pepper thrown in along with a bit of burnt cherry and fish sauce. Not too thin, but not chewy. Very balanced with a nice long finish. Reminds me of sitting in front of a fire in the fall, with winter well on its way.

2007 bottle from Eagle River Liquor in Fulton, IL. Pours a slightly hazy dark chocolate brown with and absoutely huge rocky tan head that lasts forever and just looks beautiful. Aroma is of lots of dark fruit, toffee, caramel, fresh taffy, a decent amount of floral and citrus hops and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is caramel, toffee, roast, lots and lots of candied dates, overripe banana, a little raisin, molasses, burnt sugar, and some pine and citrus hops. FInish is dried fruit, a belgian like yeastiness, and some nice citrus, bitter and maybe some herbal hops. Body is medium, rather slick and very clean, this brew hides 9.5% really well. I would love to compare this to a fresh bottle, I bet this is better.

Shared at Butters Big Blowout, which Barrios picked for his 400th rating. Very dark brown pour with red highlights and solid dark tan head with good lacing. Nose is rummy, bourbon, i’d almost think this is oak aged, hints of ginger. Complex melding of molassis, milk chocolate, oak, vanilla. Medium full body with a creamy texture. Terrific job of hiding the alcohol.

Butters cellar reduction tasting. Big chocolate, molasses, vanilla, malty nose. Wow... right off the bat. Very complex. Has this been barrel aged? Smells and tastes like it. Very savory longing beer. Awesome brew.

Clear darker brown pour with ruby redness. Thick tan head. Heavy aroma of malt and molasses, toffee, sugar, hops, and a bit of fruit. Complex taste. Malt and sugar up front, very reminiscent of a tripel. Fruits and bread in the middle, with some cherry and tobacco. It lingers for a bit before the dryness of the hops kick in. Some smoke and metal with the hops, and a semi-dry finish. I’ve never had anything like this before.

Looking forward to this for sum time after speaking with Avery..

.Pours the brownest of the browns..

.has at least a 2-3 finger power coppertone head.

..smell is actually quite similar to bigfoot but with a lighter burnt fruit smell profile.

..Taste is of smoke, fig, plum, bitter coffee, lots of dark oddland fruits- interesting to say the least.

..Very enjoyable..

.Smooth as silk, and the alcohol is sooo well masked!.

I think this is worthy of an anniversary brew!

I was rather surprised by this beer: the "strong ale" category is a mile wide but is usually pretty hoppy, and this beer is more grapey and Belgian tasting than American strong ale hoppiness. The beer pours a dark red-brown with a sweet malty dry roastiness in its aroma which was extremely pleasant. The flavor is big and sticky with a grapey mouthfeel upfront which transitions to a chocolate-y roastiness at the rather dry finish. Mouthfeel is clean and smooth. This beer is delightful.

I swear this beer was a chocolate IPA, with a twist of dried fruit. This a complex beer with a hoppy dry finish. I liked it very much
