COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The hallmark of Belgian Triples are fruity esters balanced with a dry finish that fall in the range of 7-9% ABV. And for this year’s 19th anniversary celebratory brew, we decided to create a stylistically perfect beer—something unusual considering our penchant for producing eccentric beers that defy styles or categories.

In excited anticipation of 20 years and the new brewery, we concocted this very traditional, yeast driven, dry and fruity Tripel.

Hop Variety: Bravo, Czech Saaz
Malt Variety: Two-row barley, Wheat, Oats
Yeast Variety: Achouffe

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is cloves, banana and some fruity esters. Flavor is the same, lots of clove and banana with some spicy fruit and sugar. What ever yeast they used really did its thing. A little low carbonation compared to some Belgian triples but this is quite tasty.

Elwood (3027) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JUN 2, 2012
Serving: 22 oz. bottle at Fire Works Leesburg. It pours a hazy yellow with large and active white head. Lots of carbonation in this brew. The nose is all bubblegum. The flavor is a mix of bubblegum, candy sugar sweetness, and banana. Light to medium body with high carbonation and a lingering finish. Tastes like a dumbed down tripel. It definitely doesn’t hold a candle to the more complex Belgian versions.

Pretty nice beer. Bit sticky, seems more than 8%, nice Belgian character, almost saison-like, thick feeling though. Nice doughy fruit flavor that seems quite traditional.

Bottle. Pours a light golden, slight haze with a small white head. Aroma is belgian yeast, spicy and citric, slight doughiness, a bit peppery. Flavor starts with a lot of the banana esters, a touch candyish which then gives way to the spicy and slight pepper note, finishing fruity and a bit citric, just a touch boozy. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. Pretty nice

Bubblegum aromas. Bubblegum and spice flavors. Overall a very good Belgian style triple.

(draught - Flying Saucer KC / keep the glass night :-) pale gold with white head and some lace. Aroma of Belgian yeast and pale malt. Flavor was Belgian yeast, a little light fruit. Really no alcohol flavor despite the 8+ %.

Bottle to glass. Pours pale citrus yellow orange with a quick little soapy white head that leaves a thin spotty film. Aroma is spice banana and clove with subtle hops, pepper some cracker and yeast. Taste has some subtle bitterness from the hops and a little farmhouse flavors with peppery crackers with the spice and yeast really showing through and plenty of banana and malt. Palate is slick and chalky with a drying finish.

Bottle- Pours a hazy pale lemonade color with a good head that fades to lacing. Aroma of citrus and fruit, mostly banana. Mild malt sweetness and some spice. Taste of citrus and fruit, again mostly banana, sweet malt and bread. Mild bitterness and a dry finish. Light body, smooth and well balanced. The 8.23% ABV is very well hidden. Nice Abbey Tripel. Not an in your face, overpowering offering of the style.

Pours a pale yellow with some sediment. As it sits, the sediment slowly sits on the bottom. Heavy nose of flowers, and yeast, with some lemon grass and earth tones. Super easy to drink and not overwhelming on yeast like most in this style. Pretty good! Glad I got a few bottles!

22oz. bottle served in a tulip. Poured a pale gold with a couple of fingers of tight bubbled white head. Clove and Belgian spice in the aroma. Light bodied and dry. A little citrus. More spice in the finish. Nice American version of a tripel. Most seem to be sweet and flabby. Good stuff.
