3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber from Samís, Durham. Very handsome pour, deep golden with a bit of flaking detectable and a lustrous head to it. Soft floral hops in the nose but mostly ripe stripes of yeast and a bundle of dry herbal additions. Nice nose but fairly perfunctory as per most American renditions I suppose. Playful mouthfeel, taste is mostly a bit sweet although some grass and spice in the finish. Comes across as fresh and clean but the taste was just average overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Yellow and slightly cloudy under a fizzy white head which fades quickly to a micro thin collar bordering a small puddle of white floating in the middle. Swirls puffy along the edges.
Yeasty, spicy, doughy, and tropical. Green bananas and plantains. Banana nut bread without the nuts. Peppery and raw ginger root. Coriander, paprika, and cumin. Spicy yeasty doughy breads.
Banana bread and dough and bakerís yeast. Spice in the breath. Dry along the sides with jellied pineapple, guava, and aloe in the middle. Ginger, cumin, and paprika in the breath. Green aloe in the back swallow.
A decent Tripel and another good anniversary beer from Avery Brewing Company. Style wise, it was spot on but for some reason, it lacked any real particular oomph to really dazzle my tastebuds. Iíd drink it again though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bomber found in the Fall of 2013 in Dayton OH. Hazy unfiltered yellow-tan body, thin oily white head. Has mellowed out a bit, almost has as cask feel. The hops add a green peppery bite to it, but the malt is just smooth and steady. Delicate flowery yeast tones persist, bringing the whole beer together. A pretty solid, well done Tripel, better than most US versions. Really grew on me as I sipped at it. If it had a little more liveliness and zing it would be World Class.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours clear straw yellow with a white head. The aroma brings apples and a little bit of butter, the esters are definitely there. Flavor brings a bit of Apple, Belgian yeast, and ends up just a tad dry.

Poured from bomber 4-6-13: Pale yellow color with a lot of debris. Great thick white head. Appearance is superb, but the flavor drops this beer many points (sour cereal). 5.8 BD; 7.7 Dad; 7 KevMar; 7.7 Sean

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 22oz. It pours a mostly clear body, golden in color, and with some microfloaties. Dense, two-finger white head. The aroma is a tad alcoholic, with white sugar, pale malts, lemon and some banana, generic fruityness and some pine cones, grass and spices. Itís full-bodied and quite effervescent, not to an annoying degree though. Some metallic notes. Lightly warming, with some white sugar, even though itís quite dry. Bitterness, spice notes, yellow apples and banana hints. Lasting bitter and lighlty warming finish. Pretty nice this one, although a tad warming I think. Easy to drink though, and quite tasteful. 130823

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clearish straw yellow pour with decent soapy white head. Fruity, some banana, vanilla, clovey yeast. Moderate carb with a semi-bitter lemon citrus dry finish. Pretty decent, but not amazing.
