22oz Bottle. Aroma is pretty mellow, but has fruit, spice, and yeast to it. The taste is of heavy yeast with some spice, a bit of fruit (some peach, banana, some others I can’t really tell) along with some notable pepper and again...yeast! A good, well bodied beer with a solid mouthfeel and a great finish. Smooth, carbonated and to the point. This is absolutely up there with the rest of Avery’s best! 8.2% abv.

August 5th, 2012 - Avery Brewing’s Anniversary series has always treated me right, all the way back to the origins of my craft beer days. In those times I think the idea of a beer commemorating an event was fairly novel. Stone had the famous Vertical Epic, but the sheer variety and creativity that having an annual brew in a thematic series was less common than today. That doesn’t mean Avery didn’t take the task lightly. Each brew in their anniversary cluster has either been unique (if not always my favorite) or exceedingly tasty. The 19 follows in this vein, beginning with a light straw colored body, a cloudy haze, and a club soda carbonation, lit up by light passing through the brew - no head to bar the way. Vanilla and banana crowd the aroma, giving it a heavy depth and muddy appeal - thick and custardy, too, giving this a natural place at the end of a dinner course. The flavor is a bit fruitier than the nose, introducing some pear up front, which then backs off to let the more traditional tripel-style flavors come in: banana, clove, etc. The aftertaste is marked with notes of white grapes and even more banana and clove, though it has a slight acidity that reminds me of a Berlinerweisse. The booziness doesn’t interfere with the flavor at all, letting the aftertaste wrap up each sip with a distinctly dulcet and sweet banjo-style twang.

P: Pale bright yellow color that is evenly hazed. White fizzy head that lasts a few seconds and disappears.
S: Lime, lemon, tart and acidic, yikes stripes fruit striped gum, mango, pineapples, warmed milk in cereal, and bready yeast.
T/M: Dank earthy tropical fruit, musty mouth coating, tart lemon and limes. Belgian candy sugar, spices, and powdery yeast. Bitterness is apparent but subdued by the sweet alcohol. Booze starts to swarm once warm. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Finish is dry and bitter fruit soaked alcohol.
O: A nice anniversary surprise. A solid tripel that delivers complex flavors. The acidity was a tad much but overall a great beer to enjoy. Cheers!

Pours a golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is cooked corn. Not much hop aroma. Flavor is slightly bitter. Some alcohol. Slightly sweet. Finishes pretty dry and with some bitterness. Nice beer.

"Somewhat hazy golden yellow with small white foam head. Aroma is bit weak, low bitter, also sweet. Not caramel, more like orange. Taste is bitter, again not too much. Some sweetness precent. Short bittersweet aftertaste.

Yellow and slightly cloudy under a fizzy white head which fades quickly to a micro thin collar bordering a small puddle of white floating in the middle. Swirls puffy along the edges.
Yeasty, spicy, doughy, and tropical. Green bananas and plantains. Banana nut bread without the nuts. Peppery and raw ginger root. Coriander, paprika, and cumin. Spicy yeasty doughy breads.
Banana bread and dough and baker’s yeast. Spice in the breath. Dry along the sides with jellied pineapple, guava, and aloe in the middle. Ginger, cumin, and paprika in the breath. Green aloe in the back swallow.
A decent Tripel and another good anniversary beer from Avery Brewing Company. Style wise, it was spot on but for some reason, it lacked any real particular oomph to really dazzle my tastebuds. I’d drink it again though.

22oz bomber found in the Fall of 2013 in Dayton OH. Hazy unfiltered yellow-tan body, thin oily white head. Has mellowed out a bit, almost has as cask feel. The hops add a green peppery bite to it, but the malt is just smooth and steady. Delicate flowery yeast tones persist, bringing the whole beer together. A pretty solid, well done Tripel, better than most US versions. Really grew on me as I sipped at it. If it had a little more liveliness and zing it would be World Class.

Pours clear straw yellow with a white head. The aroma brings apples and a little bit of butter, the esters are definitely there. Flavor brings a bit of Apple, Belgian yeast, and ends up just a tad dry.

Bottle pour. Pours a pale gold with a big white head of foam. The aroma is full of grass, cane sugar, black peppercorns. Very sweet and a little herbal. Mild alcohol burn on the finish.
