After years of commemorating our anniversary with deliciously wild and weird ales, we decided to mix it up a bit and create our first Anniversary Lager. SEVENTEEN is a celebration and case study of the aromas and flavors of German hops. And knowing our fetish for those beautiful green cones, you can be confident that the contents of this bottle are excessively hopped for your olfactory pleasure. Many thanks to all and we hope you enjoy our lupulin dissertation. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, imported German hops, and German yeast.

This brew is perfect I tell ya. Good head retention and aroma. Only medium full with superb carbonation. I thought it would be more rich and concentrated. Perfect balance with a nice hop presence and roast component. Not sweet at all. This is so f’ing good. Trump or no Trump, this brew is perfect in every way. I am amazed.

A beautiful example of a Schwarzbier; the aroma of the German hops balances nicely with the malty warm basic tones. It pours lovely and dark with a tanned head. Try this one before it’s too late.

Pours a beautiful very dark brown color with a nice creamy head. Head is khaki with a reddish hue. Smell has a very unique berry flavor to it when I first smelled it, but couldn’t detect it any longer. Good amount of chocolate, roasty goodness, with a very pleasant hop aroma. On the tounge get a good amount of roasted notes, chocolate, cream, and a bang of hop flavor. I’d say this was close to a old ale. Very clean flavor to it... must be the water. Finishes mildly bitter and roasty. How the f*#$% do they make beer this good? Enjoyability 5/5.

This is a very rich, very complex bock. Dark brown appearance, little head. Aromas of dark fruits, licorice, and a touch of vinegar. Delicious taste, some burned brown sugar and grape juice. Tried at the Choice City Deli in 2013.

This beer pours a perfectly dark color with a fantastic pillowy head that sustains itself throughout the drinking time. Aroma is great, notes of chocolate, roasted malts, and hops all mixed together. Taste is awesome with a great lager mouthfeel. Notes are of roasted chocolate, some sweet maltiness, a slight bitterness from hops although there also seems to be some due to the chocolate as well, and they all mix together in a perfectly drinkable blend of awesomeness. This beer is very similar to Stone’s Black IPA, but much more drinkable and slightly less aggressive.

22 oz bottle. A: Pours an opaque black with dark ruby red around the edges and a tan head. S: Bitter hops and burnt roasted malts fill this beer’s aroma. T: Big and malty but quite bitter on the finish with roasted flavors and nice alcohol bite. M: Light body and high level of carbonation. D: Despite the high level of alcohol, the high carbonation and light body makes this quite smooth.

Excellent beer! Served with a nice foamy tan head and some lace. Color is an opaque brown black. Aroma is very malty, cocoa, hint dark ripe fruit, bare hint of hop, and toffee. Flavor is like aroma with some nice bittersweetness standing out. Body is very big with a mouth filling lushness and perfect carbonation for the style. Much more body than the average black lager. Finish is like flavor and of medium length with a bit of alcohol there. Can have several of these.

Bottle pours a rich black with a nice thick tan head. Aroma is highly complex, with hints of chocolate, coffee, dirt, grass, flowers, licorice, roasted malt, and smoke. Taste initially sweet, primarily chocolate and molasses with a floral and grassy bitter finish. Body and carbonation is medium-heavy. Incredibly complex and enjoyable. Avery continues to impress.
