3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 madmitch76 (6173) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2011
25th January 2009 Cloudy amber beer with a cream white head that quickly dies away. Soft beer. Hops dominate but they are very civilised and not bitter. Flavour tends towards a marmaladey orange. Some creamy malt as well. Low carbonation. Very easy drinking and satisfying beer.
3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 cracklefish (98) - Ohio, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Clean orange pour with no head. Aroma is orange marmalade, vanilla, golden raisins and grain. Flavor is sweet malt complexity with light orange notes, some zest. Light bitterness with some alcohol spice balances the sweet malts. very round and full flavored. Enamel ripper but not in a bad way. It has this soft and dry character with a mix of bitterness that clings to the decaying malt sweetness to balance pretty well. This smells intense and a bit winey but really comes together in the flavor. Ends a bit too dry and causes the finish to be chalky.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JaBier (3212) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - AUG 17, 2009
Bottle sample. Pours opaque orange with a medium beige head. Fruity aroma of raisin and strawberry with a bit of funk and cereal malt. Creamy and grainy malt flavor with a bit of fruit.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUL 28, 2009
Pours opaque copper with gold edges and thin white head. The aroma is rich chewy aged malt sweetness, solid pine hop notes and a thick layer of yum. The taste is the same with rich smooth sweet chewy malts and pine hops. It runs smoothly into the finish with thick malts, muted pine hops and caramel. This has held up perfectly. I could drink plenty more of this.

bottle shared by Ibrew2or3. Pours a deep orange. Caramel, brown sugar, slight oxidation, sweet malts, hop presence. Flavor is carboard, slight floral and earth hops, musty, caramel sweetness and warming booze. Very very nice beer. Held up well.

’03 bottle thanks to Ibrew2or3. Poured a clear amber color with a dense white head. Aroma is caramel with a big hop presence, slightly vinous and alcohol notes. Medium creamy body. Flavor is sweet with lots of caramel, malt, some citrus, and a touch of honey. Finishes dry and slightly bitter.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 sebletitje (4384) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUL 10, 2009
thanks to ibrew2or3 for bringing this gem.’03 bottle
pours hazy orange, white head. Surprisingly, the beer had retained plenty of carbonation and some light head retention.
aroma and taste, lots of caramel, grainy mouthfeel.
some chocolate also noticeable, finish keeps some light hops and overall a big caramel, fruity profile with some warming abv. Hops seemed a little more attenuated, nevertheless, a fine complex beer.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bigtaster (292) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - APR 29, 2009
Vintage 6 years. Pours semi-clear dark amber color almost burn orange. There is a large off white that quickly disappears. Immediate strong aroma of hay and orange. The first thing I notice is how smooth this beer is for how big it is. Very complex things going on in it, not sure if I like some of them but some are very good. I get a feel for the once astringent hop bite that has now mellowed to a quarter of its old self. The malts are quite nice and some fruity esters and a good amount of sweetness. Overall it seems this beer has become more complex but lost some of the punch I like in beer.

Poured amber with white head. Past it’s prime. Some fruit and sweet malt malt but mostly booze. Still drinkable.
