Bomber poured into a tulip; pours clear amber with a small white head. Nose is citrus, peach, grapefruit, hops. Flavor follows with a nice balance of hoppy bitterness and malty sweetness. Not as bold as some other DIPAs Iíve had, but overall very good.

Classic DIPA look, with clear, amber colored body, two finger thick durable head, and gentle carbonation streamer. the smell was a little subdued (for the style), with hay, grapefruit, and honeydew melon in the nose, but not an assault. The taste delivered more hops than the nose hinted at, with a tropical fruit (apricot, persimmon, mango) flavor, followed by some herbs (mint, parsley, coriander) and a decent amount of sweet malt backing. Quite sticky and soft in the mouth, with not much of a carbonation zing. Itís a good, gentle DIPA, for a late night relaxing. Not a bruiser.

Draught at Porter Bar. Nice hoppy Double IPA with orange body and overall taste of pine and grapefruit. Slight malt body. Really well done.

Thisis12ptfont (836) - Los Angeles, CA, California, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Massively immense pine and tree sap hop aroma annihilates the nose. Majestic copper brown with a thin foam rim. Strong bitter hop bite upfront which is quickly replaced by heavy caramel, molasses, herb and maple syrup malt flavors. Overall, this is a very thick and complex DIPA. Complex flavors and heavy thickness. Well done brew from Avery. A rating.

Bomber, bottled May 2013--canít get much fresher than that! Pours a nearly clear old gold bordering on copper hue with a medium cream-colored head that falls into a blanket after a minute; leaves nice lace. Aroma is fairly dank, vegetal, catty, doughy, pineapple. Flavor is an explosion of citrus and pineapple, along with a nice dose of fresh pine needles; I canít recall ever having a beer this citrusy from hops alone with no added fruit. Taste is bittersweet, with neither sensation in high abundance. Mouthfeel is creamy, carbonation fine, body full. Initially, I was a little worried with the aroma, but the taste more than made up for it. An extraordinary Imperial IPA. Addendum: upping the aroma score. The vegetal aspect disappears after sitting in the glass for awhile, leaving only citrus, pineapple and pine...the good stuff.

Bomber split with Anndiesel. Filtered orange-tan body. Frothy, foamy off-white head. Green garlic, green onion a top of tropical citrus..super fresh bold hops. Really clean body, lets the hops shine. The touch of honey malt adds a nice sweetness and depth. Pretty much a phenomenal IIPA...displaying some nice tropical Simcoe tones.

650.61 ml. bottle. Bottled May 2013. Pours a thinnish well retained white head, with extensive lacing, over a clear amber (SRM 7) body.......nose is pine, resin, grapefruit peel, hints of floral, hints of toffee/caramel.....taste is pine, light resin, grapefruit peel, toffee/caramel, barest hints of pineapple, finishing with a moderate pine bitterness......mouth feel medium, very slightly astringent, alcohol hidden, carbonation adds a nice tingle. The hops, especially the dry hops, were handled very deftly. The result is a beer loaded with hop aromas and flavors with only moderate bitterness. This is a really good beer considering how young it is. I should age some for a few month. BJCP 8/3/16/5/8

Bomber poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, kind bud, orange zest, tropical fruit, peach and light pink grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, orange zest, kind bud, pink grapefruit and light tropical fruit with a smooth dry moderatly bitter finish.

22oz bottled May 1, 2013. Served at around 40-45F.

Pours clear golden amber with a two finger white head that leaves some sheets of lacing and settles to a light cap.

Aroma is oranges, pineapple, fruity hops, a little floral, resinous hops, some caramel malt. Good strength.

Flavor is oranges, pineapple, fruity hops, hop resin, decent caramel malt backbone with some sweetness, good bitterness, some alcohol on the finish.

Mouthfeel is medium-plus bodied, quite oily, moderate carbonation.

OK Double IPA. Quite hoppy, but fairly malty as well.

mixmasterob (883) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Clear dark golden pour with a nice head. Big resiny aroma, lots of fruit and pine. Sweet candied hops, caramel. Flavors were piney, lots of hop oils on the palate. Slight caramel and bitter grapefruit. Mouthfeel was velvety and smooth, lasting bitter finish. Everything in perfect balance. This is up there with the best of em. Awesome.
