Sampled at the brewery, cloudy golden hue, with a white head, nice, funky yeasty fruity nose of sour green apples, tart rhubarb, and a hint of wet oakiness, hint of lemon citric in the aroma follows through on medium-bodied palate, with a yeasty bretty, fruity character of mild green apple sourness, a lemon zesty acidic, and rhubarb tartness, with a hint of white wine wet oakiness, leading towards a fruity tart, sourness finish.

On tap the Strong Ale Festival. Cloudy yellow color. Nice sourness. Easy to drink. Frothy off-white tap head. Not sweet or dry. Excellent. Some brett phenolics in the aroma.

Poured orange with a yellow tint.
Nose had good amounts of cracked pepper and vinegar.
Taste of pears, pepper, not tart or sour, finished very dry.

Tasted at Strong Ale Festival 12/5/08. Bright yellow, big white head. Subtle whiffs of oak and not much else. Flavors of white grapes and oak. Not overly sour, very balanced. Havenot tried regular Salvation to make a comparison.

Avery 10/10/08 at brewery tasting room. Bad Sally. Salvation Belgian Golden with Brett fermentation in secondary and aged in cabernet sauvignon cask. Oak and wine balance out the Brett sourness nicely.

Sampled at ’08 BSAF. Beer is cloudy, light/medium-hued oxidized caramel. Head is off-white, frothy, large and mostly lasting.<P>The aroma is malty with light notes of toasted grain, biscuit, trace of cracker; Hoppy with light notes of flowers, moderate note of lemon zest; Yeasty with moderate notes of vinous white wine, balsamic vinegar, horse blanket and barn yard; Miscellaneous notes of light tart apple, trace of pepper.<P>The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic (juicy), moderate/lightly bitter with a moderately long, lightly acidic, lightly sweet, slightly warm finish.<P>The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is light/moderate.<P>Well done.

Draught. Beautiful oak and funk nose, light pineapple, rubber brett character, peach, and background floral notes. Bright orange with a thin head and beautiful lacing. Wonderful depth of flavors. Tinges of rubbery brett through everything. Fruity, loads of pineapple and citrus. Totally balanced. Minor sweet component. Dry palate with spicy finish.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2009 On tap. Poured a lightly hazy golden-orange color with a moderate fizzy white head that left some lacing. Aroma of barnyard, brett, funk, some citrus, and a hint of wine. Flavor starts out with a nice dry, cobweb flavor with light citrus and funk that leads into a nice tart brett finish with hints of wine grapes and oak. Spritzy and full on the palate. Definitely something I wish Avery would bottle.

Barnyard aromas lingering over light graininess. No hops, slight peppery phenols, lots of fruity esters (pears, apples). .
Med Yellow, Cloudy, white head with good retention . .
Tart flavor with citrus zing and lots of brett barnyard character. Little/no hop flabor, moderate bitterness. .
Light body, high carbonation, slightly prickly. .
Very nice sour beer. quite different from the regular Salvation. Brettanomyces character is prominent.

Avery tap room 9/22/09. Aroma; faint floral, great aroma slight smell of freshly opened plastic toys/peachy floral perfume. Taste; Oh my god! sweet tarts, beautiful brett provides sensation like licking 9 volt, fizzy Sprite soda, sour lime. (normally brett is labeled as horsey but this is froggy/pond scum.)
