Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear, dark reddish amber with a rough off-white head. Red wine barrel character, some wood and sulphur. Medium body, red grapes, not all that funky but quite alcoholic in the finish. 301112

Bottle shared at my "Massive Mikkeller" tasting. Opened right next to Avery Odio. Why do we always leave sours to the very end of the night?! My palate was sort of shot at this point but I did jot down a few notes. I found this one very enjoyable but definitely not as sour as others I’ve tried from the Avery BA Series. Fruity and slightly tart.

12 fl oz bottle thanks to rhialistic! Sampled on October 11, 2012. Bottled on JAN 26 2012
Clear dark ruby red, very pretty color. Tan head. Acidic, tart, lychee, grape peel, red wine, vinous, unripe red currants taste. Dry bitter fruit peel and pith aftertaste, mixed with some semi-tart red wine and some butter. Warming alcohol that lingers. Spritzy mouthfeel, tart dry medium high bitterness. Acidic, wild berries, alochol scent.

12oz bottle - pours like cranberry juice. Well carbonated. Cabernet nose and even bigger in the taste, a little bit of cherry in the finish. Not a sour but good barrel flavor. As a red wine drinker i like’d this for sure.

12oz bottle .. . pours a deep ruby .. light foam, light lacing .. . some wine, and tart hay with berry skin .. . easily the mildest of the avery barrel series, the abv is very well masked though!! .. . . put your poncho back on!!

Bottle thanks to Rich. Pours a beautiful dark red color. Huge wine nose with some funk. Taste starts off with a bit of funk, leading to wine flavors and some grassy flavors. A bit thin on the body. Not bad but seems there was something left on the table here.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy reddish brown with a tan head with pink hues. Head is smallish and recedes to a thin cap with spotty lacing. Aroma is very much like a red wine with plen Cabernet characteristics, but with some sweet sugary notes mixed in. Definitely some oak as well. Nt much Brett that I detect. More red wine up front in the taste with some sugar and yeast underneath. The finish is dry and earthy with a heavy red wine slant. Brett makes an appearance but is not as prominent as the wine. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. Having just had the last barrel series, this one doesn’t quite stack up to the Muscat D’Amour, but it’s not bad. Definitely for the red wine lover.
