12 oz. bottle from a trade a while back, and I don’t remember which one. Pours a cloudy dark reddish-brown color with a small khaki head that quickly settles into a ring. Aroma of oak, vanilla, caramel, sweet cherries, funk, and vinous notes. The flavor isn’t led by the same sweet notes, but they’re more blended in with the cherries and vinous character. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, tart mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Nice sour with good balance.

Bottled Sept, 2012 Pours a brown ale with a broken sheet of dusty whites. Smells of dust, raspberry skins, oak, acid and some wine. Flavor is raspberry, oak, lots of raspberries, acid, some nice acidity in this one. Medium bodied with moderately hi carb and a dry finish. Nice beer, I’ve always liked it.

Bottle thanks to Awlcordell. Pours hazy cherry amber with a small creamy long lasting tan head that laces well. Aroma is oaky, tart cherry, vinous, a bit of basement and funky horse blanket. Flavor has some initial raspberry sweetness that dries out into medium tartness, some acidity from the barrel. Light but noticeable funkiness going on there too. Oaky, a bit tannic, fruity and vinous. Very nice; comparable to a cross between Supplication and Consecration.

This one poured a murky brown color with a small beige head. Aroma was big tart raspberries, some red wine, oak, and lemons. Flavor was moderately tart, but not mother puckering, lots of raspberry skins and seeds, some wine barrel for sure. Very well blended and a treat fo sure.

[Bottle / 09-2012] Thanks, Jason! Dark, muddled copper body with a more brown-ish, murky centers... No real head to speak of, just a timid beige collar outlining the top. Aroma has a nice mix of sour lemon flesh & tart, acidic raspberry skins... Some woody oak notes, not as much of a vinous presence as I’d expect from the Carernet barrels, mostly just hefty oak. Slight medicinal cherry notes in the back-end. Taste opens up with a helping of tart raspberry juice, lemon peel, & a borderline yogurt-y, mainly lacto sourness leading to a lightly puckering finish. Drying oak with some tannic presence; again, not exceedingly wine-like, but that’s okay. Hints of cherry, but raspberry dominates. Sour, dry, tasty with a light, crisp body. This stuff would be lovely to have in four or six-packs.

Bottle thanks to trade with JStax. Shared at Jeff’s. Pours reddish-orange with a small head. Sour raspberry aroma with wood and vinegar. Great tasting sour. Raspberries, vinegar, and vanilla. Not much red wine, maybe just a touch in the finish. Nice light acidity. Really good beer.

Bottle: The aroma consists of sour raspberry, lemon, and light vinous notes. It pours a transparent brownish-orange with a minimal off-white head that quickly looks still. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sour raspberry. The finish has moderate-heavy sour lemon, light oak, and just a hint of vinous notes (could be power of suggestion). It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.
