Appearance: slightly hazy, chestnut brown and tints of orange with tightly bubbled off-white head. Aroma: tart raspberries, oak, barnyard funk, dust, dark cherry. Taste: starts very tart and oaky, leads into some barnyard and dust, ending is tart and bright raspberry/dark cherry fruity and the wine barrel shows through. Mouthfeel: thin to medium texture with medium carbonation. Overall: very complex and delicious. Super sour like I like with just great fruit and wine barrel aged qualities shining through.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jhamp9 (752) - Corinth, Texas, USA - APR 24, 2013
Clear mahogany pour with a beige head that fades quickly down to a ring. Strong tart berry aroma with wood and vinegar. Taste is very tart berries and wood up front that goes into lactic acid and red wine. Very dry on the palate with a good deal of acidity. Sourness hits in the back of the throat. Definitely not something to drink quickly. This is a really nice sour.

This is great stuff. Pretty acidic, nice fruity character without being overwhelming. Brett funk comes through the nose in the finish. I should have bought a lot more.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours ruby/brown with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of sweet tarts, raspberries, oak, light wine, some maltiness, and light bitterness. Flavor mainly of sweet tarts and raspberries with a nice blend of everything. Average to carbonated texture. A really good beer.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 Beerenberger (789) - Fischer, Texas, USA - APR 19, 2013
Wonderful nose of raspberries and Brett. Pours a rubby brown with a rapidly dissipating off-white head and no lacing. The taste is very (YES) sour. Raspberries, barnyard, and red wine with a dry but sour finish. Grabs the back of the tongue and says, "Whoa! SOUR!" Medium body with crisp carbonation. Overall, if you like really sour beers, and I do, you’ll love this one. Nice job Avery!

Nice wine, a bit of raspberry jam, hints of balsamic vinegar, and lactic acidity. A bit of oak and grass, too. Very good raspberry flavor. Tons of grape and red wine, balsamic vinegar, and sweet, fruity jam. Lemon zest, grass, oak, and a nice dry finish.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 gvmdw7 (171) - California, USA - APR 6, 2013
Poured mahogany red with little head. The carbonation made it look like a boiling cauldron. Smells primarily of cherries and oak. The sourness immediately took over and it was hard to taste anything else. A little bit of oakiness finally came through. Great sour
