3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap into a snifter showing coffee caramel and no head.
The nose shows caramel malts with a raisin-like edge.
The palate is full bodied and lightly carbonated. Alcohol spiciness immediately shows. Very sweet flavors of caramel and raisin with light vanilla.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle. Dark brown with brief suds. Nose is maple, wet wood, toasted coconut and chocolate with pervading rum soaked goodness. Silky with sexy heat but not sharp. Taste is dark chocolate, molasses, toasted coconut and rum. Massive sticky sweetness masks the big ABV.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared with jrob21. thanks wchesser for sending this a while back. A must share beer. The booze is heavily present in a super sweet raisin soaked rum, big caramel sweetness. Just stays on this good side of being too much. In my 4 oz sample I rather enjoyed it.

12oz shared by westmeister. Serious sipper here. Such a big beer I don’t think I’d be able to make it through an entire 12oz myself. Lots of rum and alcohol still even after all this time. Decent amount of coconut and sweetness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 11/16/13 from a capped 12oz bottle at our Avery Barrel-Aged tasting. Pours clear but very dark brown with a very thin tan head that slowly disappears. The nose is hot with a ton of dark molasses, milk chocolate, and vanilla oak. The flavor is super sweet and very hot with tons of brown sugar, milk chocolate, and vanilla with some coconut on the back of the palate. The body is massive with light carbonation and a long sweet coconut, milk chocolate, and vanilla finish.

2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Courtesy my Secret Santa. Glad I tried this, but this is a typical Avery sweet alcoholic bomb. Aroma was decent. Did pick up roasted coconut and dark chocolate through all the alcohol. The beer actually smelled sweet. Pour was a nice enough deep dark black with just a thin tan film for a head. Taste was WAY too sweet. Strong sugary sweetness and strong alcohol drown out any flavors. The finish is sweet dark molasses and pure burnt sugar. Little to no carbonation as expected. The goal of this beer was to make it as strong as possible regardless of flavor and drinkability. I’m a quarter way through and considering a drain pour

Nice coconut malt smell. Super sweet rum, malt, and alcohol taste. This beer is actually too sweet, which is rare for me to say.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle... Pours cloudy and brown with no head. Smells like ethanol or vodka with hints of both rum and vanilla, and a faint toasted coconut component. Full-bodied and slick with tingly carbonation. The flavor is quite sweet and very boozy - brown sugar, dark rum, vanilla and toasted coconut. Considering the spirited aroma, I expected big alcohol here, but not so much - as long as I sip slowly. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is a syrupy, sugary mess. Pours like syrupy oil. Black without any head or lacing. Extremely sweet finish. All milk chocolate with some light coffee. Like molasses. Bottle pour at Churchkey feature event.
