COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No. 15, much like a certain fabled two-piece candy bar of our youth, rich, dark chocolate notes accented with aromatic toasted coconut. What would add depth and character to this already delicious combo, we wondered? The answer is time (6 months) well spent in the very best rum barrels available.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark brownish black pour with thin tan head, aroma brought big notes of sugar, rum, toffee, some slight coconut, chocolate, roasted notes, more sweet sugary rum in there as well, with some vanilla.  Taste is a big sweet mix of rum, coconut, milk chocolate, and vanilla, mixing into slight roast, spice, hints of dark chocolate as well, finishing sweet, boozy.  Think this will get better over time.

Aroma of dog food. Slight oak and cocoanut and chocolaye like a box of Samoas. Pours black with good carb but no head. Taste is coconut rum, oak, spiced rum, and brown sugar. Super sweet and very boozy. Treat this like a cordial.

Poured from 12 oz bottle. Shared this one with 48FaninCali. Pours very dark brown, nearly black with tan head. There are some white floaties in there from the coconut. You can’t taste them or notice them when you drink it. Aroma is huge coconut, vanilla, chocolate and booze. Taste is the same...it is very hot still with lots of booze. Tastes like a Mounds bar with alcohol. Tasty stuff. Super sweet. Glad I shared the 12 oz bottle, as a full 12 oz would have knocked me on my ass and sent me into a diabetic coma.

12oz bottle as a bonus from minor threat. Just a warning for those who don’t always pay attention to bottles like me that this is a 17% beer so maybe don’t open it by yourself :) Black with a ruby hue, faint biege head that fades to nothing and some white floaters (coconut maybe?). Roasted coconut, bit of malibu rum without the overwhelming sweetness that I associate with that liquor - more of a rich dark rum, some alcohol but not a lot, dark vanilla, bit of PC cola too (including some of the sugar. Mild carbonation, moderate+ body, booze is present but to be honest fairly well hidden, smooth yet sticky, sweet without being cloying, more alcohol on the finish then anywhere else along with some sticky and sweet malt with a bit of molasses. An odd combination but it works and its quite interesting - be sure to drink it with one of those little umbrellas in your glass.

Toasty coconut aroma. Wow, quite balanced nose. Damn. Super sweet profile: roast fades fast, sugar-covered crackers, spicy at the end a la Rumpkin. Caramelized malt. Imbalanced profile, yet it's in a direction I enjoy. Should age well.

Bottle shared with the Dallas crew. Hope y’all like it. Pour is murky brown with some small white floaters. Big caramel, roasty, toasted coconut, sweet vanilla, brown sugar, cocoa, and rum in the aroma. Taste is big coconut, sweet vanilla, rum, whiskey, roast, raisins, figs, brown sugar, and caramel. Slick mouthfeel with no carbonation. Super sweet dessert beer. Very smooth and sweet with a touch of heat on the backend. Tasty stuff, but maybe just a touch too sweet. Could definitely benefit from some age.

Black pour, slight tan head. Little pieces of white coconut floaters. Aroma is coconut and cane sugar. Lots of coconut, like sun tan oil. A bit of underlying rum. Taste is coconut, chocolate, and rum. Like others have said it is the a alcoholic mounds bar. Very sweet. Im talking dark lord levels of sweetness. Good stuff, but very strong. Slowly sip this one with a friend.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2013 Bottle @ home, thanks to Steve_0 for grabbing me some bottles @ the release! Pours a black appearance with cola-like tan bubbly/carbonated head that dissipates within a few seconds. A fair amount of white coconut particles stick to the edge of the glass along with some alcohol legs. Boozy, spicy, alcoholic rum really are the first impression in the nose. Also some dark chocolate, coconut, vanilla, and a moderate sweetness in the aroma but it’s honestly quite boozy. The flavor, while very hot and boozy, is reminiscent of a Mounds bar with a ton of dark chocolate and coconut. Some cola, caramel, and cake notes but mostly just coconut and chocolate. Really a lot of residual sweetness with a ton of brown sugar that almost amounts to a goopy syrup. My throat and mouth really got coated in this goop which lead to a seriously sweet aftertaste. Not as boozy as you might expect from 17% abv but it’s definitely pretty fucking hot. Pretty one-dimensional and in all honesty, I think the goopy sweetness bothers me more than the booze. In all fairness, this shit will definitely get you buzzed quick. Update: tried again with six months age and is a bit smoother yet still super sweet.

Bottle to snifter (thanks dudeabide). Looks good; cola with razor-thioff-white lacing. Smells solid; coconut and rum with dark malt notes. Tastes like it smells with. A nice, smooth mouthfeel. Good beer!
