12 oz bottle. Thanks to Iphonephan. Aroma is some funky fruit notes, sweet barrel character. Flavor is much better - funky, tart fruits. Pleasant.

12 oz. bottle, thanks to iPhonePhan! Hazy peach colored pour. Big pear and apple, definite tequila kick. Nice to see Avery go back to something not quite as boozy. I like it, donít love it.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper with no head. The aroma is sweet with some dill pickle notes. Do prickly pears taste like pickles? Sour funky taste. Medium carbonation.

Bottle at Euclid Hall. Pours a clear orange gold with no head. The aroma is a strong prickly pear, lime, and oak. Thin mouthfeel with nice sour pear and lime juice with nice tart finish. Really enjoyed this one.

Light and tart. Pear, peaches, and funky nose. Slightly sweet with hints of tequila and oak with a rich vibrant fruitiness with well rounded tart. Balanced on the end. Really nicely done.

Bottle courtesy of theothermatt. Pours a hazy orange amber. Wispy off-white head, some lasting. Aroma is yeasty and sour fruity. Sour, some funk, barnyard, wood, soft citrus, lemon, (what I think is the) prickly pear, just a hint of tequila perhaps. Flavor matches. Lighter medium body. Semi Prickly and crisp. Strong sourness. Its got s nice initial zing. Green apple. Lemon. Lime. Tequila peeks out for a moment. Semi dry, lingering sour finish with a thin layer of tequila barrel character. Really nicely put together.

Recieved as a part of Free Beer Week 2014 -- Bottle poured into a tulip glass. Very fizzy quarter inch head that disappears quickly. Not much aroma to speak of. Looks like a hazy golden with pink highlights. The flavor is amazing, very tart/sour to start with on the top of the tongue and as it slides back Iím left with an amazing tropical fruit flavor; Lychee and Kiwi. Very impressive beer.

12 oz bottle, poured into a snifter glass. Aroma reminds me of some kind of sweetener, something like agave and watered down honey. Once the beer breathes a little it smells like the cactus my grandmother used to cook when I was younger. Total cactus flesh, watermelon, and lime. The beer pours clear golden color with sporadic bubble placements throughout the beer. No real head and definitely no lacing. Taste is up front whiskey sour, with more subtle green apple notes and watermelon. The lingering tastes kind of remind of sucking on a lemon, with a salty quality as well. Maybe some pear. Body is light with spritzy carbonation. Low alcohol spice and moderate alcohol warmth. Aftertaste is citrus peels, cactus, agave and oak with a lightly tart twang. Overall Opuntia is a pretty weird fruity/limey beer. The tequila barrel gives off what I am guessing is the cactus (nopales) taste and the sweeter agave. Definitely unique, but it tastes too much like a mix drink to me.

Bottle @ Steve_0, thanks Stephen! Pours a pretty clear golden orange appearance with a thin off white head and pretty serious legs. Lots of light fruits in the nose - apple, pear, lime - with a slight spiciness, maybe from wood. Really tastes like a green apple jolly rancher. Usually, green apple isnít very desirable but itís cool in this. Lots of pear and apple along with some vanilla. Way more enjoyable and chuggable than I expected.
