Hazy red brown beer. No head. Sour woody nose. Light semi crisp palate. Mildly sour wood. Lactose sweetness - almost creamy. Tingly sour minerals induce salivation before a light finish. Sour aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 12oz. A finger-thick off-white head forms over a clear, dark golden body. The aroma is lightly funky, with berries, cellar and a faint note of spices. Quite tender and pleasant. The flavor has berries, cellar and a little touch of caramel, dry and tart on the palate. Some vinegarish funkyness too, leading to a finish dominated by red berries. A quite nice one indeed, but not my favorite sour beer. 110930

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Churchkey, shared with Eric. Bright copper color, edge head that disappears quickly. Aroma of fresh cherries. Taste is extremely tart, lots of barnyard funk and dust, but overwhelmingly so. Resin, apples, sour cherries, pine. Out of balance and too extreme, my guess is, too long in the oak. It is impossible to follow this beer with anything else - go ahead and prove me wrong!
