Tasted on 11/16/13 from a capped 12oz bottle at our Avery Barrel-Aged tasting. Pours very bright, clear burnt orange with a thin off-white head that leaves a thin collar. The nose is super funky and very sour, some animal sanguine aroma, sour cherry, and vinous oak. The flavor is more fruity and vinous, the ferrous, sanguine note more subdued, still nicely sour with the cherry and some oak. The body is full and tannic sticky with average carbonation and a long sour and vinous finish.

I can’t smell much from this one. Taste is lactic sourness, brett, and cherry. Pretty good.

Pours a dark brown with nice ruby highlights. The nose is a full mix of the Cabernet and the sour cherries. Nice and round on the palate with lots of dark, fruity tartness finishing with oak and Cabernet notes. Well done.

Bottle. Pours clear burnt red with very small off-white head. Settles quickly with no lacing. Aroma caramelized sugar, cherry, slightly oxidized, oaky, tart and vinous. Flavor is sour cherry up front, dried cherry and cherry skin, with a tart, oaky, vinegar, big cabernet, musty, leather, cherry finish and lingering buttery oak, tart, cherry aftertaste. This has cellared well, slightest oxidation but still big on flavor. Soft to moderate carbonation, medium body.

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a cloudy amber with small frothy off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is sour fruit,oak, and funk. Medium mouthfeel with strong funk, light sour fruit and nice oak finish. Yes.

Hazy brown, no real head/lace. Barrel galore on the nose, quite sour, good stuff. Fruit gets covered a little by the barrel, enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottled. Poured clear, rich, ruddy brown with a short beige head that settled to a dusting quickly. The aroma picked up sour cherries, oak, leather, and red wine vinegar with a deeper, almost candied sweetness.. tangy and aggressive on the nose, but I enjoyed it. The flavor was very tart and bracing on the tip of the tongue with sour cherries and vinegar leading.. cherry meat and assorted dark fruits supported.. oak and vinegar sourness laced throughout.. finished dry, but with a decent dose of residual sugars.. peppery and warm all the way to the belly.. tasty stuff. Medium-ish bodied with low carbonation.. assertive and engaging, with a lot of barrel and fruit character.. nice one!

12 oz bottle from adnielsen (shared with Tmoney99 July ’12) Pours a clear light brown color with a small white head. The aroma has caramel malts, sour cherry, wood, some musty notes and a big vinous quality. The flavor is pretty intense; dry, sour, tart cherry, caramel, wood, vinous and acidic. I like this now, but wonder what some age would do.
