On tap @ Avery. Dark brown pour with a khaki head. Ginger overwhelms the nose. Sage, roast, and cocoa powder. Mild chalk, lots of herbs, and a subtle sweetness. Flavor is all ginger up front. Herbal sage on the middle, some roast, toast, and bread sweetness. A bit chalky on the finish.

On tap at Avery poured a clear reddiosh brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of chai, carmel and light cocoa. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of chai, carmel and cocoa with a smooth lingering chai finish.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of cinnamon, clove, spice, nice earth, grain, dark cocoa notes, hints of caramel, toffee, slight nutty notes as well. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, mixing into nice chai spice notes with cinnamon, clove, some slight grain and earthy tones, nuts, finishing dry, sweet.

(Draught) cloudy medium brown, creamy tan head with nice lacing. Nose of chai, nutty, raisin, great spice balance. Taste is even better, chai but balanced without the overpowering allspice, raisin, clove, great nutty and spicy palate finish.

Big chai aroma here. Sweet and rich, and very full flavored for a brown ale. There is all chai spice in the flavor, as well as some malt. Good.

Draft sampled at the brewpub. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is strongly herbal, sage reminding me of stuffing with a Sunday roast. Also strong ginger. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. It’s Sunday roast chicken dinner beer! (With ginger). Brilliant!

Draft at source, pours murky brown with white head. Aroma is heavy on the cardamom, cinnamon, cream, and nutmeg. Flavors are slightly tart fig, nutmeg, clove, cardamom, some creamy and malty notes finish. Tastes just like chai tea, which has never been my thing. But we’ll executed.

On tap at Avery. Poured a murky dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is big ginger and spice. The flavour is medium bitter with a spicy weak liqourice fruit palate. A really unusual beer which is really refreshing and if you like spice you will love this.

On draft at the Avery Brewery in Boulder. Pours a murky dark brown with a fine ecru head. Spicy clove and cinnamon flavors but not overpowering. Smooth finish.

Sample at Avery Tap Room. This I really enjoyed. The chai/spice flavors definitely come through but don’t overpower the beer or make it too sweet. Very good brew!
